Tom Kyte's Presentation and OTN "Expert" Session

Did you miss Tom Kyte's OpenWorld presentation on 10 things "he likes" in Oracle Database 10g Release 2? If so, the content and comments in his own pre-presentation blog are informative. (According to Tom there were 1,000+ attendees as this session!)

Conditional compilation seems to be sneaking up on most lists of favorite features. PL/SQL product manager Bryn Llewellyn is talking this feature up at OOW as well. Bryn and Steven Feuerstein teamed up for an OTN Lounge "Meet the Experts" session earlier today:

Attendees with sufficiently "challenging" questions received a free copy of Tom's new book, Expert Oracle Database Architecture. Questions touched on topics such as the "true" performance benefit of outer joins, the value of XQuery, use and benefits of Oracle Workspace Manager, and more.
