Containers, Containers Everywhere But Not a Drop to Drink! Since we've announced the availability of commercial images on the Docker Store, we have been getting some questions on how to pull and deploy a Store image with Oracle Container Cloud Service. It's very easy to do this in just 5 steps. If you want to try this out, get an Oracle Cloud account right now.
First, log into the Docker Store with your Docker account, and go to the page of the image you want to deploy on Oracle Container Cloud Service. Agree to the terms of service, then select the “Get Content” button:
Then click on the "Setup" button:
Copy the location of the Docker image indicated with the docker pull command. It will be similar to this format: store/oracle/product:version
Then, on Container Cloud Service, define a new Registry definition for the Docker store. Set the URL to: index.docker.io/store and add your Docker account information for email, username and password. You can use the "Validate" button to test the connection. Then "Save" the Registry definition:
Note - This registry setup only has to be done once for any image in the store.
Create a new OCCS service for the image, paste in the location of the desired image, append with the image tag, set any appropriate run-time parameters and Save the new service:
Finally, deploy the service in a click:
That's it! In 5 steps you have deployed a Docker image of Oracle products available on the Docker Store directly into your Oracle Cloud Platform account through the Container Cloud Service. If you don't have an account yet, go to cloud.oracle.com/tryit and get one with free credits to try it out!
