As usual, OTN Night ("OTN Underground" this year) was absolutely packed last night (Monday).
- David Stewart from Intel's Software and Solutions Group gave a pre-party presentation about "demystifying" platform choices (Xeon? Itanium? 64-bit? etc.) for IT architecture (especially Grid). I also had a chance to chat with David post-talk, which we have captured in a podcast to publish on Wednesday.
- Oracle's Open Source Development Team (Wim Coekaerts, Saar Maoz, Joel Becker, et al) was represented in force at the traditional Oracle-on-Linux Installfest; as usual, a tabletop RAC cluster was the main draw:
Chief Installfest Officer Todd Trichler will have more details soon.
Lots of other activities as well (DBA Hot Seat, etc.) but it was so darn crowded I could hardly move one foot in any direction....
