Don't you just love it when cool new technology lives up to the hype ?
or at least closely approxiamates it. Just before OpenWorld I fitted a new Rack to my wife's prius. I've managed to get 51.8 MPG a little short of the advertised 60MPG - still that is at least 2.5 times better than the old non-hybrid engine that I traded in.
At OpenWorld 2005 I dropped in on the Extreme RAC sessions, they had over 200 machines going with at least another 100 people waiting to get on, and have their shot at installing RAC on linux. Real Application Clusters is another one of those cool technologies that actually lives up to it's expectations especially when combined with linux to build low cost scalable clusters. It has been nothing short of amazing to see the level of interest and uptake within the oracle installbase.
