CloudBerry Setup for Oracle Storage Cloud Service

CloudBerry Setup for Oracle Storage Cloud Service

Best practice setup of using CloudBerry is to use the Data Center independent Rest Endpoint URL as it is displayed in the Oracle Storage Cloud Service.

We presume that the Identity Domain Administrator already set the Replication Policy for the Oracle Storage Cloud Service.

Here are the steps:

Step 1: Get the Data Center independent Rest Endpoint URL from Oracle Cloud Storage Service.

From the Oracle Public Cloud Dashboard click the Oracle Storage Cloud Service.

OPC Dashboard

Copy the REST Endpoint URL, in the example below the full REST Endpoint is https://<identity-domain>.storage.oraclecloud.com/v1/Storage-<identity-domain>.
Also note the Data Center where your Service has been allocated in the below scenario, the Data Center is EMEA Commercial 2-Amsterdam (aka EM2).

Step 2: In Cloudberry setup a New Oracle Cloud

  • Insert a display name of your choice.
  • Insert the username, the username is the in the format Storage-<identity-domain>:<username>, where <username> is the username of your Oracle Public Cloud, that has the correct rights to the Oracle Storage Cloud Service. See here for more information on Users and their Roles in Oracle Public Cloud.
  • Insert the password that match the previous username.
  • Insert the Authentication Service URL as documented here , so it will look like this: https://<identity-domain>.storage.oraclecloud.com/auth/v1.0.
  • In the account location select the Data Center, in this case EM2.

and  make sure you set your Replication Policy for the Oracle Cloud Storage from the Dashboard and your username has the correct roles assigned.
