Come into the light, Architect...
By OTN ArchBeat on Sep 08, 2010
If you ask 10 people to define the role of the software architect, you're likely to get 20 different answers. But one thing is certain: among the throngs of participants in Oracle Develop there will be a great many whose job descriptions include some variation of the term "software architect." And those intrepid, often misunderstood souls deserve some recognition for the important role they play in getting enterprises large and small from where they are today to where they need to be tomorrow.
So as a tip of the hat to all you application, solution, and enterprise architects out there, Oracle Technology Network is hosting an Architect Meet-Up at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, September 21, 2010, in the Mason Street Tent, between the Hilton and Nikko hotels. The Architect Meet-Up is open to any architect attending Oracle Develop, JavaOne, or Oracle OpenWorld.
There will be refreshments -- including adult beverages -- along with snacks and lots of opportunities to communicate, commiserate, and compare notes with fellow architects.
So if you're an architect, or have aspirations of becoming an architect, or simply want to talk to an architect, be sure to mark your calendar. If you plan to attend, please take a moment to RSVP. You can do that via the OTN ArchBeat Group on Facebook, or via OracleCommunity.net, or simply ping me on Twitter: @brhubart.
See you soon in San Francisco!
