The UhlerBots are coming

There's some background needed here. Another Labs Researcher, Steve Uhler, created a simple robot platform out of nothing more than a battery-pack, two modified servos, and some model airplane wheels. He then began controlling it with a Sun SPOT.
We have been using these since the days of the bSPOT to great effect. They are easy to build, and small and portable. Not all that robust the way I build them (using hot-glue), but easy to build and repair at least.
So this is what our UhlerBots look like:
We have been working with the good folks over at North Carolina State University for a while now, and they were looking for a reasonable robotics platform to play with in their courses. I lent them a UhlerBot, an iRobot Create, and a Systronix Trackbot. After due consideration, they chose to begin manufacturing their own UhlerBots, which they now call HomeBots. I personally like the name UhlerBot better, but they can call it whatever they want.
If you want to build your own UhlerBot, check out their wiki which contains a full parts list, and complete instructions for creating your own robot.
Make sure you take photos and videos, and post them to our Flickr Group, and use the 'spaughts' tag. Post your videos with the 'spaughts' tag to YouTube and they will show up on our video feed on SunSPOTWorld.com!
