Help find Nancy Cooper

Copied verbatim from Rich Sharple's blog, but this is big ... and scary for us.

One of our neighbors - Nancy Cooper has been missing since the morning of Saturday, July 12. She went for a run around 7am on Saturday morning in theLochmere / Regency Lake area of Cary, NC and never returned. Nancy is white, has shoulder length brown hair and hazel eyes, she’s 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds. She was last seen wearing a T-shirt, running shorts and light blue running shoes.

There’s more information and photos on and the News & Observer. If you’re a local blogger - please help spread the word and If you have any information contact Cary Police at 919-469-4016 / 4012.

I don't know Nancy, but live and run in Lochmere. I have distributed flyers, and am headed out to search an area designated to me this morning at Lifetime Fitness. She is constantly in my thoughts and I'm sending positive energy and strength to her at all times. Hang in there Nancy. We're coming!!!

I live about a mile away from Nancy, I am a runner and have been on every trail in Regency, Ritter, Lochmere and the surrounding area. Me and my girl friends are very concerned and would like to help in the search. I am extrely familary with the running routes. I read that Nancy is training for a half marathon therefore she has a schedule and by finding that schedule we should know how far she planned to run on Saturday. I know the 8, 9, 12, 14, & 18 mile paths. I will be glad to do what ever I can to help our fellow runner.

I agree with Kim. I am a runner as well and anyone training for such an event would have a schedule. Find her schedule and determine how many miles she intended to run Saturday and you might have a better idea of her intended route. A lot of us who train seriously, have devices such as a Forerunner which calulate distance, pace, routes, etc. This info can be downloaded to a computer. Maybe Nancy had such a device or other training log on her computer. Finding this information could be crucial in finding her!

I personally do not know Nancy but she is in my thoughts and prayers for a safe return.

Hi, I was hoping Jesse Woodsmith could provide his email address so that I (and others) may contact him to volunteer for search efforts in the future? Thanks so much, Holly

Hello again! I have had a request for my e-mail addy for contact about future searches. My addy is My page at MySpace is concentrated on missing people. You can find that at Be The Shepherd's Eyes.
Currently I am at the tail end of the Cancer fight and my involvement with missing folks is limited. As I get healthire it will be growing. This is a tragedy in our nation causing pian that I just can't imagine. You folks who are feeling the loss of Nancy understand in ways that I can't.
Plaese contact me. I have many ideas but would love some folks to help. There are some searches schedualed soon in the Hickory, NC area for Travis Baker.
Again, for those of you hurting so much from the loss of Nancy, I am so sorry. I pray that GOD reaches out to you with HIS loving arms.

I dont know Nancy but I've read the papers. My heart goes out to the family of Nancy Cooper and to those two sweet little one's that will miss her greatly. As a mom, you love your kids unconditionally and from the pics I seen,of her with the children. That was very obvious.
The entire family is in my prayers.
