BUSINESS BENEFIT

Cloud admins now have access to more information about the disaster recovery settings for their ADB instances.

VAULT SECRET INTEGRATION

OVERVIEW

Cloud admins can create vault secret credentials with secrets stored in OCI Vault. Vault secret credentials can be used to access cloud resources or other databases (use vault secret credentials anywhere where username/password type credentials are required).

BUSINESS BENEFIT

The integration with OCI Vault avoids duplicating secrets (passwords) when accessing cloud resources from Autonomous Database. Secrets are stored in a vault, and Autonomous Database accesses the vault.

This simplifies the process of rotating secrets because it removes the need to update the in-database credential objects used to access cloud resources.

FLASHBACK TIME TRAVEL

Making it easier to comply with regulatory and compliance requirements as well as recover data following human errors.

OVERVIEW

Oracle Flashback Time Travel allows automatic archiving of changes to designated tables. The archiving process is completely transparent – no application changes are required.

It is designed to simplify tracking and managing historical data within a database for regulatory requirements. It allows users to perform historical data analysis.

BUSINESS BENEFIT

Flashback Time Travel enables organizations to meet regulatory compliance requirements by preserving historical data in a tamper-proof manner. This is particularly valuable in industries with strict data retention policies like finance or healthcare.

WORKING WITH dbt PYTHON MODELS

Using Python models in dbt transformation workflows

WHAT IS dbt?

dbt is a transformation workflow that lets teams deploy analytics code following software engineering best practices like modularity, portability, CI/CD, and documentation. Anyone who knows SQL can build production-grade data pipelines with dbt.

FEATURE OVERVIEW

  • Users can define data transformations using Python DataFrames APIs
  • Final returned DataFrame can be saved as a table in ADB
  • Use 3rd party packages from PyData stack (scipy, numpy, scikit-learn, pandas, etc.) in the Python runtime
  • DataFrame read API to read TABLES, VIEWS, and ad-hoc SELECT queries as DataFrames
  • Supports both table and incremental materialization
  • Integration with ADB-S conda (Coming Soon)

INTEGRATION WITH AWS GLUE

What is AWS Glue?

AWS Glue is a fully managed extract, transform, and load (ETL) service that makes it easy for customers to prepare and load their data for analytics. It can connect to various data sources, including data stored in Amazon S3 and databases on Amazon RDS.

AWS Glue also includes a data catalog that allows customers to store and retrieve information about their data, such as schema and statistics.

BUSINESS BENEFIT

Users can expand their data warehouse beyond Oracle Cloud and use metadata and data from other cloud providers such as AWS. Data remains in the remote cloud and is only processed at query runtime. Customers can sync multiple objects at one run and easily maintain such a connection by utilizing AWS Glue.
