Class: Optimizer - Good things get even better (Aug 5)

This is your chance to learn from the experts in development. Maria is going to do a webcast in the BIWA TechCast series on the optimizer. August 5, 9am Pacific Time.

Since its introduction in Oracle7, people have been fascinated and intimidated by the cost-based optimizer and the statistics it relies on. While the Optimizer becomes more and more transparent and requires less and less attention, still a lot of people feel 'left out' and consider whatever happens inside the optimizer as black art and that a degree in wizardry is required to be able to make it do the right thing. This presentation takes a detailed look at the optimizer features introduced in Oracle Database 11g, explains how they will make a DBA's life easier, and will help to clear the mystery that has surrounded the Oracle optimizer.

Comments:

Hi, Thanks for posting this info. The session looks very interesting. I would love to attend but I am unable to attend due to a clash with another appointment. Please can you tell me if this session is going to be recorded and available for viewing later? If not do you know if/when this session will be held again? Many Thanks, Raju.
