Universal Approach to Enterprise Data Quality

Finding, fixing and standardizing data issues is no easy feat.  As data volumes increase, now, more than ever data quality is a critical component of an enterprise's information management architecture.  Reliable data quality enables organizations to trust the data they rely to take critical business actions.  Data quality solutions need to be nimble enough to effectively handle multi-domain data from disparate systems and silos.  At this year's Oracle OpenWorld we will be introducing our first Oracle Enterprise Data Quality session as part of the Oracle Data Integration track.  Oracle Enterprise Data Quality is an integrated data quality solution that provides profiling, cleansing, classification, matching and reporting (via dashboards).  It is engineered for business users and provides integrated team collaboration and management capabilities.

Discover What's Coming Up at OpenWorld on Data Integration

Our world is overloaded with information, unfortunately stored typically in silos that hide the big picture businesses need to move forward. Data Integration technology helps bring the pieces together from disparate systems across the enterprise and see the complete picture to make more informed decisions. That’s why data integration is a key ingredient to be able to find innovative solutions for today’s never-ending business and IT challenges.

For the same reason, one of our key tracks at Oracle OpenWorld is dedicated to Data Integration.   The Data Integration track covers multiple topics, as the technology is tightly integrated with many different areas including data warehousing, system migration/consolidation, data quality, data synchronization for high availability, application integration, Cloud computing, and MDM. The track brings 26 sessions joined by over 20 customers and partners, 12 Demo Pods, and 6 Hands-on-Labs to OpenWorld attendees.

The most exciting part of this year’s Data Integration track is the customers that will present how they leverage Data Integration products including Oracle Data Integrator, Oracle GoldenGate and Oracle Enterprise Data Quality to improve their business and IT operations. Customer speakers—such as Sprint, Sabre Holding, UPMC, Turkcell, Paychex, Fedex, Dell, SiriusXM Radio, Citigroup, ThomsonReuters, Verisign, Ross Stores, and IronMountain—represent multiple industries and will share their innovative data integration solutions.

In a big event like Open World, it is hard to decide on which sessions to attend, planning in advance helps. You can start with reviewing our Focus On report for Data Integration to see the details on where and when you can find our sessions. Also, I invite you to listen to a recent podcast that gives more details on what Data Integration track entails this year at OpenWorld.

We will continue to keep you informed via our Facebook and Twitter accounts, as well as via this blog page, with details on what is coming up on Data Integration at OpenWorld. If you are not part of the Oracle Data Integration community yet, it is a good time to join now.

What’s New in the Data Integration Market?

Data integration is essential to many strategic IT initiatives including master data management (MDM), modernization, and service-oriented architecture (SOA). That’s why it is not surprising that the data integration market continues to grow in its size, importance and impact on enterprise information systems. The technology has evolved from simple extract, transform, and load (ETL) procedures to include real time data movement, bi-directional replication/synchronization along with data quality and data profiling and data services.

The user base for data integration tools has also evolved from low-level technology for developers and DBAs to high-level environments for operations staff, data stewards, business analysts and enterprise architects. In short, what was once merely the background “plumbing” underlying our information systems now influences just about every aspect of IT, and touches just about every type of stakeholder.

In a new white paper we have examined the state of the data integration market including the trends in business intelligence, data warehousing, data quality, consolidation, cloud computing and IT modernization initiatives that are driving data-intensive projects. You can access this brand new white paper along with other data integration focused white papers and resources here.
