Oracle announced in a press releasetoday that it has been named a Leader in Gartner’s 2018 “Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Integration Platform as a Service” report for the second consecutive year. Oracle believes that the recognition is testament to the continued momentum and growth of Oracle Cloud Platform in the past year.
As explained by Gartner, the Magic Quadrant positions vendors within a particular quadrant based on their ability to execute and completeness of vision separating into the following four categories:
Leaders execute well against their current vision and are well positioned for tomorrow.
Visionaries understand where the market is going or have a vision for changing market rules, but do not yet execute well.
Niche Players focus successfully on a small segment, or are unfocused and do not out-innovate or outperform others.
Challengers execute well today or may dominate a large segment, but do not demonstrate an understanding of market direction.
Gartner views integration platform as a service (iPaaS) as having the “capabilities to enable subscribers (aka "tenants") to implement data, application, API and process integration projects involving any combination of cloud-resident and on-premises endpoints.” The report adds, “This is achieved by developing, deploying, executing, managing and monitoring integration processes/flows that connect multiple endpoints so that they can work together.”
