Oracle Spatial 11g a hit in San Diego

There was plenty of interest in Oracle Spatial at last week’s ESRI International User Conference in San Diego. Despite a rather remote location, Oracle’s exhibit booth drew hundreds of visitors from all over the world representing all levels of government, the military, education, and a wide spectrum of industries.
People were eager to learn about Oracle Spatial 11g features including management of 3D data, GeoRaster, and the network data model. Demonstrations also included integration of spatial visualization and analysis in Oracle Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition, and the use of Oracle Fusion Middleware MapViewer 11g to build location-based applications.
The BMW Oracle Racing yacht, based in San Diego behind the conference center, was a bonus attraction. Many visitors were thrilled to see the high tech 90-foot trimaran – easy to spot with its 160-foot mast that dwarfed other boats in the harbor!
