Oracle DatabaseWorld at CloudWorld 2023 will open its doors soon, welcoming you to Las Vegas for the second time and again with a rich collection of great content. The Oracle Globally Distributed Database product management team has prepared a set of complementary learning sessions (45-minute sessions with an "LRNxxxx" designation), interactive Hands-on-Lab (HOL with an "HOLxxxx" designation), and Oracle Demos which can all be found in the CloudWorld Session Catalog

Choosing the most exciting sessions from over a thousand sessions can be difficult. In addition to having compiled a "Keep It Running"-Agenda listing all high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery-related sessions at CloudWorld, please find below our recommendations for Globally Distributed Database sessions that you should not miss when attending DatabaseWorld at CloudWorld

Build global-scale application using Globally Distributed Autonomous Databases [LRN3178]

Data and transaction volume in enterprises is exploding, and applications are required to be available 24x7. As a result, enterprise applications are adopting design patterns like distributed databases which have been used by many internet-scale applications. We discuss how customers are building global-scale applications that can scale to millions of transactions per second with petabytes of data and eliminate downtime. Oracle Globally Distributed Autonomous Database does all this while rendering strong data consistency, the full power of SQL, and support for structured and unstructured data.

Complying with Data Sovereignty using Oracle Globally Distributed Database [LRN3180]

Companies around the world are scrambling to meet data sovereignty and data residency regulations. For example, India requires that financial transactions data between Indian entities be stored in India. There are similar requirements in a incremental list of countries such as China, Brazil, and Australia. Learn how Oracle Globally Distributed Database can help you meet these regulations so your company can continue to thrive and conduct business in those countries.

Accelerate your Applications 10x with True Cache [LRN3186]

Many business applications use a caching tier to improve performance by adding a new object caching tier in front of a relational database. Applications are responsible for loading the data in the cache and invalidation using a separate API. A separate caching layer is required, which adds licensing, operational, and resource costs in addition to reducing data protection, data security, and availability based on the chosen caching tier’s features. Oracle True Cache is an in-memory SQL cache that automatically synchronizes with the backend database. It obviates the need for a separate object cache layer and removes the need for the application to keep the cache in sync with the same enterprise availability and security as an Oracle Database.
