Oracle Database Development has worked hard to deliver the next long-term support release of the Oracle Database, with a focus on AI and developer productivity: Oracle Database 23ai. Oracle Database 23ai introduces game-changing innovations in the areas of AI for data, Dev for data,  and mission-critical workload support for your data ( you can read all about it in this blog https://blogs.oracle.com/database/post/oracle-23ai-now-generally-available ).

In addition to the recently announced availability of 23ai for Autonomous Database Always Free( https://blogs.oracle.com/datawarehousing/post/23ai-autonomous-database-free ), today, we are thrilled to announce 23ai support on Autonomous Database on Dedicated Exadata Infrastructure deployment! This marks a significant milestone in our journey to provide unparalleled database performance, flexibility, and security for our customers.

Introducing Oracle Database 23ai

23ai includes numerous enhancements and new features tailored to support modern application workloads. Click here to explore new features introduced in 23ai.

Getting Started

Take advantage of 23ai on Autonomous Database on Dedicated Exadata Infrastructure today.

Provisioning Autonomous VM Cluster with the right Tags

23ai can be created only on Autonomous VM Clusters (AVMCs) created on or after the launch of 23ai support with the right tags attached during the provisioning. Click here to learn how to provision an Autonomous VM Cluster.

Make sure to add the exact Tags during the provisioning of AVMC

Tag Namespace: None (Add a free-form tag)

Tag Key: DatabaseVersion

Tag Value: 23ai

Add Tags during provisioning AVMC

Once the Autonomous VM Cluster is provisioned, ensure you choose 23ai from the "Select base image" dropdown menu while provisioning Autonomous Container Databases.

Select 23ai from the dropdown

Summary

The addition of 23ai support on Autonomous Database Dedicated represents a significant leap forward in database technology. By combining the advanced features of 23ai with the robust and secure environment of Autonomous Database Dedicated, we are empowering organizations to innovate faster, operate more efficiently, and stay ahead in the competitive landscape.

Stay tuned for more updates and detailed guides on how to make the most of the new features. Welcome to the future of autonomous databases with 23ai!
