Oracle Virtual Desktop Client App for iPad

Oracle today announced Oracle Virtual Desktop Client App for iPad is now available on the Apple App Store.

What does that mean? According to our friends over on Oracle's Virtualization Blog, it means any virtual desktop managed by Sun Ray Software or Oracle Virtual Desktop Infrastructure can be accessed directly from your iPad, including Siebel CRM. There are a lot more exciting features of the Oracle Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, so go here to see more details about this announcement and here for screen shots from an iPad.

What does it mean for Siebel CRM customers? Anthony Lye, Senior VP of Oracle CRM, says: “When combined with Oracle Virtual Desktop Client App for iPad, customers can now access Siebel CRM on the go without any modifications. The user's desktop environment, including any web-based Siebel CRM application, is hosted in the data center and rendered accurately over the network on the iPad, increasing speed and ensuring that no local data is stored on the device, which increases security."
