”Winners don’t do different things. They do things differently.” A phrase made popular by author Shiv Khera, this idea comes to mind when I consider how we build solutions that solve our customers' unique challenges.
It’s also why we’re extremely pleased to announce that Oracle has been named a Leader by IDC MarketScape in their first-ever vendor assessment for Worldwide Manufacturing Service Life-Cycle Management Platforms.
We believe this recognition is due to our ability to support customers on a global scale while providing both pre-built integration between Oracle products and the ability to integrate with other vendors’ applications.
IDC MarketScape vendor analysis model is designed to provide an overview of the competitive fitness of ICT suppliers in a given market. The research methodology utilizes a rigorous scoring methodology based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria that results in a single graphical illustration of each vendor’s position within a given market. The Capabilities score measures vendor product, go-to-market and business execution in the short-term. The Strategy score measures alignment of vendor strategies with customer requirements in a 3-5-year timeframe. Vendor market share is represented by the size of the icons.
Manufacturing is experiencing a period of rapid transformation—accelerated by the pandemic and a shift in customer expectations. And during this time of change, the service experience has become a key differentiator, whether it be delivered by an internal service team or a third-party partner. Establishing an enterprise strategy that includes service operations in a digital transformation journey has become a priority.
According to WBR, “Most field service organizations (54%) claim a revamped customer engagement solution to help maintain or enhance relationships with customers is a priority for their next software initiative. In each case, nearly half cite one connected, automated system from field to back office (49%) and a fully automated, dynamic scheduling solution to manage dispatching and field staff (49%) as priorities as well.”
We believe a connected customer and employee experience is now essential for delivering Service Life-cycle Management (SLM), the process of serving a product or asset throughout its lifetime with more attention on how companies offer service, customer support, field service, and more.
In the report, IDC MarketScape writes “The Oracle platform has the end-to-end functionality to support service organizations at varying stages of digital maturity. The platform brings together an integrated application architecture that can ensure that service data not only informs service resolution but also helps in decision making across other functions within the business.”
Oracle was also recognized for driving innovation by offering configurable solutions to support customer needs as they continue to evolve.
This milestone is a huge achievement for Oracle, but there’s more to come. We’re here to help you retain customers for life with a platform that ensures you can deliver remarkable experiences at scale with a user experience connected to the rest of the service value chain and unified end-to-end solutions with configurable, automated workflows.
