Your Guide to Oracle Sales Cloud @ Oracle OpenWorld 2013

Last week I sat down with Mark Vito a Senior Director with the Oracle Sales Cloud Product Management team.  Mark is the guy responsible for “everything Oracle Sales Cloud” that you’ll see next week at Oracle OpenWorld 2013 in San Francisco.

It’s a big event so I asked him what folks should focus on if they had a limited amount of time. Here’s the inside line:

The Big Picture – Moscone West is the Place to Be

Oracle Sales Cloud sessions, demonstrations and other activities are taking place within the CX (Customer Experience) @ OpenWorld program. CX @ Oracle OpenWorld is a complete program featuring more than 140 sessions dedicated to Sales, Service, Marketing, Commerce and related roles. Think of it as the customer-facing side of Oracle’s applications business and the #OOW13 sweet spot for folks who own customer-facing processes.

To cut down on travel time between sessions Moscone West is the primary venue for the majority of CX track sessions, demos, theater presentations and more. Now, here's what Mark told me I couldn't miss from the extensive list of Oracle Sales Cloud sessions, demos, and other programs.

Can’t Miss Sessions and Opportunities

See the Focus On document for the whole program—you won’t want to miss a thing. But, thanks to my conversation with Mark, here are a couple of pointers to sessions that are particularly interesting to Sales organizations focused on staying ahead.

Themes covered include selling faster and more effectively, closing the gap between sales forecasts and reality, leveraging mobile solutions to get more engagement and sales from reps. And, one more session that’s sure to be a hit with the Sales Operations and Applications IT attendees focuses on configuring and extending Oracle Sales Cloud to make it your own—it doesn’t have to be a 1-size-fits-all for your Sales Cloud. Coincidentally each of the sessions are taking place in Moscone West 3006.

Show Me the Demos!

You’ll find a great selection of Oracle Sales Cloud demos at Oracle OpenWorld. Like the sessions they are all located in Moscone West and can be found in two areas:

  • #1: Main Demo Floor
    • Go to the ground floor, main exhibit hall. The Oracle demo area is in the back of the room—so don’t get sidetracked by schwag bags and raffles on the way. Look for “W-036” through “W-048.” You’ll find mobile sales, social collaboration, analytics, and even configuration and extensibility demos.

  • #2: CX Industry Showcase
    • The 3rd floor Mezzanine area is where you'll find the CX Showcase program. Check out industry-specific demos, a theater featuring quick overview presentations of Oracle Sales Cloud, and more.

Meet the Experts

This final program is one of my favorites and it’s also in the 3rd floor Mezzanine of Moscone West. It’s your chance to Meet the Experts behind Oracle Sales Cloud. There’s no pre-set agenda or presentation. Attendees register (recommended) and show up with questions about mobility, implementation, extensibility, business intelligence and reporting…just about any Sales Cloud topic you can think of…and an Oracle team is there to help.
