Comments:

Anthony, perhaps you could tell us why Oracle chose CRM On Premise over CRM On Demand when implementing their CRM Global Single Instance ? And secondly do Oracle use a PIP to integrate CRM and ERP ? Thanks. Mike

Mike, Thanks for your question. Here is the response from Deepak Gupta, VP of Applications IT CRM Systems at Oracle: Oracle decided to implement Siebel CRM (On Premise) after the Siebel acquisition. At the time of the evaluation, we assessed that Siebel CRM was more suitable to serve Oracle's complex territory management processes as well as an integrated Marketing, PRM, integration to backoffice and other systems, and comprehensive Data Warehouse/Analytics on data that spans CRM, ERP and others. Our strategy has been a hybrid approach where we also use Oracle CRM On Demand, which is integrated with Siebel CRM for specific divisional and functional use cases. This allows for best of both models.

Kingsey, CRM stands for Customer Relationship Management, which in general is software to track and manage all customer interactions including sales, customer service, marketing and many other types of customer touchpoints. You can find out more about Oracle's CRM offerings at http://www.oracle.com/us/products/applications/siebel/index.html and also by checking out some of other posts on this blog.
