CPQ: The Gift that Keeps on Giving at Oracle OpenWorld

In the 1920s, an advertising salesman delivered the slogan, “The gift that keeps on giving”, to market a record player.  The idea was that if you gave this record player as a gift, the recipient would think of you every time he used it. Pretty clever.

What does this have to do with software?  I’ll go out on a limb: Configure, price and quote (CPQ) technology is the front-office software gift that keeps on giving.  Like the record player, customers who leverage CPQ technology earn incrementally more benefit the more they use it.
