Don't we all wish that we could magically transfer knowledge from one person to another without any effort, like mind reading? Or drink some potion and understand physics or know another language? But (sigh) we're not there yet.

But along those lines, we've asked the experts themselves (from Oracle CRM On Demand) to impart some of their tips in palatable bits so that we can absorb the information painlessly. And we're presenting these recordings in a series called "Experts Direct."

Here's what makes them "palatable":

Short: Each is between 3 and 15 minutes long!
Focus: Most of the recordings present a specific use-case and walk you through resolving the issue.
Varied: Their own voices! It's fun to hear Kathy's Australian accent or the enthusiasm in Robert's voice.
Informal: They're focusing on getting the information out there!

And here's a sample of what we've produced so far:

Tab-to-Tab Performance (ID 1077846.1)
Bob Bray, the first one to venture into the use-case territory, describes how he systematically analyzed a performance issue when moving from one tab to another.

Generating Pre-Populated E-mails (ID 1098693.1)
Louis Peters uses analytics and a Web applet to demonstrate how to add a link that end users can click to generate a formatted, pre-populated email. Specifically, the email acknowledges receipt of a service request, capturing the sender's email address along with the SR reference number, priority, and so on.

Negative Reporting (ID 1173980.1)
Leon Dolman demonstrates how to report on something that did not happen or is not true. He takes you step by step through every click in Oracle CRM On Demand Answers. Watching Leon's demo, you can quickly understand the concept behind his method and apply those same steps to run reports that you are interested in.

Project Planning Tasks (ID 1150883.1)
Even though you might understand project management, Kathy Kirk explains what you need to consider that is unique to CRM On Demand. Kathy discusses the impact of quarterly refreshes, upgrades, integration testing, and data loading.

Performance: Building Good Lists (ID 1098595.1)
Robert Davidson used a blended strategy to deal with lists that timed out. He took advantage of indexed fields for some lists, simplified others, moved yet others to reports, and so on. Both his personality and depth of knowledge shine through in this 10-minute recording!

To access these recordings, go to your Oracle CRM On Demand application and click the Training and Support link at the top of any page. Then enter "Experts Direct" in the Search box to capture everything in the series. Or use the ID number to zero in on only one resource.
