Chatbots are becoming a more prominent part of enterprise application user interfaces, and PeopleSoft has been hard at it implementing some bots.  I believe this trend will only accelerate across all applications.  PeopleSoft is working on delivering more chatbots with our applications, and as with most things PeopleSoft, customers can create their own or configure and modify the ones we deliver.  For more information on chatbots and how they are used with PeopleSoft, visit this page on peoplesoftinfo.com.

Designing Your Bots

What if you are interested in deploying chatbots to your users and you want to create your own bots to support your Enterprise's unique requirements?  Maybe you've never designed a chatbot and you don't have the expertise on staff? Oracle now offers training and resources in conversation design. This course is an interactive, business-focused workshop to help customers design compelling conversations for their business needs. Note that the workshop was originally designed to be conducted live and in-person, but due to the COVID-19 situation, Oracle is adapting how we deliver the content in an online, virtual workshop. Learn more about the workshop here.  There is also lots of great learning material like videos, documentation, and tutorials here.  This will help you develop your design skills.

Chatbots and their conversations are designed using Oracle Digital Assistant.  For more information on ODA, visit this site.

Chatbots are already in use with PeopleSoft applications, and we expect the number of bots and the number of customers employing bots will increase rapidly.  Take advantage of the conversation design workshop to create effective and engaging bots for your users.
