As the delivery of capital assets moves from 2D drawings to models and digital twins, project and asset stakeholders increasingly need to be able to visualize and interact with data throughout the asset lifecycle.
The association of all asset data – both engineering and non-engineering – to the asset model is becoming increasingly important as the number of project participants using the models continues to grow.
To help meet this increasing need, Oracle Construction and Engineering and CAXperts have developed the Digital Data Asset Solution. This new solution enables organisations to manage and visualize all their critical asset data in a common platform via an integration between Oracle’s Primavera Unifier and CAXperts’ UniversalPlantViewer. CAXperts is a member of the Oracle Partner Network.
The new solution helps organisations improve decision-making by bringing together engineering data from model authoring solutions, as well as project delivery data around cost, risk, schedule, and procurement. Better decision-making, in turn, can drive greater productivity and savings as well as improving outcomes in quality and safety.
And this golden thread of data extends into operations as engineering data is developed and maintenance projects are undertaken to improve the asset over time. The Digital Data Asset Solution brings all this data into Primavera Unifier through an automated, bidirectional connection to models through UniversalPlantViewer, enabling a broad range of stakeholders to visually manage critical information.
The solution serves as a data repository that, once configured, will support:
- Creating digital twins to enable accessibility of all data through the asset life
- Visualizing progress through the asset delivery
- Advanced work packaging (AWP), enabling constructability analysis
- Driving effective collaboration/reviews by all stakeholders through all phases of the asset life (scope, design, RFI, etc.)
- Enabling governance and control of all stakeholder interactions around the built asset
- Promoting auditability and traceability of all activities
- Reducing review cycles
- Building risk mitigation plans
