Identity and Access Management (IAM) is one of the top priorities of most organizations today. If we consider industry spend as one of the indicators of priority, Gartner® forecasts¹ worldwide spending on information security and risk management technology and services to grow 12.4% to reach $150.4 billion in 2021. Security and risk management spending grew 6.4% in 2020. Specifically, identity access management spending is expected to grow by 15.6% in 2021.

This strong growth stems from businesses and governments digital transformation needs and their growing reliance on identity infrastructure to adopt and manage change. For example, managing the demand for remote worker technologies accelerated by global events that have created greater flexibility for employees. Companies are constantly evolving their use of technologies like Cloud, Mobile, Social, Big Data and IoT as part of their transformation journey. And with that, the definition of physical and logical boundaries is getting increasingly blurred. Without clear boundaries, firewalling access becomes a challenge. As a result, organizations are forced to adopt stricter access controls and not trust anyone by default, even those already inside their network perimeter. The risks of not modernizing the security and identity infrastructure are far too grave and costly for organizations as we have seen from the many highly publicized security breaches and ransomware incidents. Compliance and regulatory requirements are also continuously evolving. Companies are exploring effective ways to manage transformation and many see the opportunity to modernize their identity infrastructure to strengthen security.

Over the years, Oracle customers have become adept at leveraging Oracle identity and access solutions for their myriad business modernization needs. This experience combined with innovations in Oracle’s latest identity and access solutions, unmatched deployment choices ranging from cloud-native, hybrid, and on-premises, and an upgrade factory to plan and execute the modernization journey, offer Oracle customers a short and economical path to modernize their IAM solution.
