This month we were pleased to join forces with Armory and present a technical webinar/tutorial on installing and deploying Spinnaker on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Armory is a company of Spinnaker experts with substantial experience helping enterprises address their continuous delivery needs.
The webinar was presented by Mickey Boxell, an Oracle Cloud Native Labs Developer Advocate and Product Manager. One of the primary goals of Cloud Native Labs is to build customer-deployable cloud native and container native solutions to bridge the gap between OCI and open source communities.
Mickey presented two options for using Halyard to install Spinnaker on OCI: local installation on an Ubuntu virtual machine using the Oracle Provider and manifest-based distributed installation on Oracle Container Engine for Kubernetes (OKE) cluster. He then walked through how to set up a workflow which takes a package, bakes a machine image, and then deploys to a test environment, triggers a manual validation, and then promotes the image to a production environment. Next, he showed how to use Spinnaker to deploy to a Kubernetes cluster via manifest files. He wrapped up by answering questions from live attendees.
If you attended, watched the replay, or simply have more questions on Spinnaker, OCI, or OKE, Mickey would love to hear from you! Please use the form to submit your questions and be alerted to news and updates from the Cloud Native Labs team.
