Excellent Blog: Tuning WebLogic LDAP Authentication Providers

In his blog Brian Eidelman from the Fusion Middleware architecture group (aka the A-team) discusses customers' need to tune their WebLogic LDAP authentication providers for a production environment. "Too often I have seen customers simply lacking in awareness to the fact that the authentication providers can and should be tuned from their default settings", he says. Brian goes through the authentication provider settings that affect performance, discusses what each setting does, and shares some guidelines and how these differ from the defaults. Tuning of WLS LDAP authenticators is an overlooked component of successful WLS production deployments. Taking just a little time to change the LDAP authenticator performance related configuration settings from default values to values which are appropriate for your production environment can result in a much faster and more stable system.
