At the Oracle Open World 2013, I was really pleased to see many Oracle customers sharing their story of accelerating their journey to Self-Service IT or private cloud leveraging the technology solutions from Oracle and partners.
The Oracle Enterprise Manager General session at Oracle Open World 2013 highlighted the efforts of everyday heroes who are driving their
IT organizations’ journeys to a more efficient and agile IT. These heroes - 5 Oracle ACEs and 2 other enterprise Manager customers , shared their experiences in deploying and managing
large-footprint Oracle stack environments encompassing Oracle
Applications, Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle Database, and Oracle
The general session also covered Oracle Enterprise Manager’s
own journey as a product in this context and also gave a sneak preview
of what’s to come.
Many other customers, for example, Bank of America, Norwey's NAV, Mercy Hospital shared their experience during their journey to private cloud and offering Database as a Service or Middleware as a Service via a self-service portal.
Many partners showcased their private cloud solutions and announced new products at Oracle Open World. Dell announced integration of their Open Manage solution with Oracle Enterprise Manager during Michael Dell's keynote.
EMC announced their new Oracle Enterprise Manager plug-in for their storage during Jeremy Burton's keynote .
Another key highlight for me was the sessions from Oracle user group members on Sunday, September 22nd. Attendance, engagement and interaction during these sessions were really amazing.
