We recently had the opportunity to sit with Joe Harvey, Vice President of Enterprise Technology Solutions at Southern Company and Stacy Lucchesi, Manager of Planning and Enablement for Enterprise Technologies at Southern Company to discuss how they are approaching business and innovation within the company to best serve their customers.
In their journey to reinvent themselves and become more efficient Southern company is adopting Oracle Cloud technologies such as Oracle Digital Assistant, Oracle Integration Cloud, and Oracle Analytics Cloud along with Oracle SaaS applications like HCM cloud and ERP cloud to derive innovation and enable employees through an acquisition of a gas company.
Stacy explains, “reinvention is all about maintaining the safe reliable electricity but doing it cheaper, more cost-effective, and more environmentally friendly”. The team has seen a 45% increase in the purchase order (PO) to invoice match rate since they have implemented Oracle technologies.
“The could solution is where we want to be. We love the interface we love the ease of use of it, just everything on one screen. Verses where we were, you click through multiple screens, popping from one thing to the next. Takes a lot of clicks, a lot of investment of time to get the information you need” says Joe.
Southern Company is leveraging emerging technologies such as Oracle Digital Assistant as a job aid or to simply gather and share information to offer a smoother experience to their employees.
