Monday at Oracle OpenWorld: Key Sessions

With Oracle OpenWorld just a few days away, most of us are busy trying to build itineraries on My Schedule to maximize the learning and networking opportunities at the conference. As someone who has been going to this conference for more than a decade (!), these are my 3 tips:

  1. Browse through the Session Catalog in advance and add the sessions that are of interest to My Schedule,
  2. Don’t miss the opportunity to network in between the sessions, during lunch hours and especially at the Experience (formerly known as Oracle DemoGrounds), and
  3. Wear comfortable shoes!

That said, if you are a technologist and are interested in Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and middleware topics, here are some of the key sessions you wouldn’t want to miss on Monday:

General Session: Oracle Cloud Platform Strategy and Roadmap
Monday, Oct 02, 1:15 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. | Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA) Theater

Hear first-hand from Oracle Senior Vice President, Amit Zavery, on the latest innovations, product strategy and his vision for Oracle Cloud Platform.

General Session: Building Modern Applications Using Microservices, Containers, APIs, and Chatbots
Monday, Oct 02, 3:15 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. | Marriott Marquis (Golden Gate Level) - Golden Gate A

Oracle executives, Siddhartha Agarwal, Diby Malakar and Suhas Uliyar take the stage in this session to discuss the latest advances in modern application development.

General Session: Oracle Cloud – A Platform and a Path to Cloud
Monday, Oct 02, 4:45 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. | Marriott Marquis - Salons 7-9 (Yerba Buena Ballroom)

This is your opportunity to hear directly from Steve Daheb, Senior Vice President, PaaS and IaaS Business, on how Oracle Cloud Platform is changing the economics of innovation.

There are a whole host of sessions, hands-on-labs, innovation showcases, workshops, and mini-theater sessions through the day. My recommendation would be to add at least one or more of the following sessions to your Monday agenda. Here you will hear from product executives on strategy and vision for their respective product areas.
