How to set up SSO Integration with Jira using Oracle Identity Cloud

In our previous post, we demonstrated how integrating single sign-on with Slack can be achieved in minutes using Oracle Identity Cloud Service. In today's post, we will demonstrate how a similar identity integration can be created with Jira Software, a popular issue and project tracking tool.

The first step is accessing your Signing Certificate from your Identity Provider Metadata. Once you have collected the certificate details, you login to Jira as an administrator and access the User Management console to setup a SAML single sign-on connection. This connection setup requires a few basic details such as the Identity Provider Entity ID and the SSO URL. The signing certificate obtained in the first step should be used to populate the Public x509 certificate on this page. Once the configuration is saved, head back to Oracle Identity Cloud and add Jira as an application by selecting it from the App Catalog. For the final step, you activate the integration and add the users you want to enable for access to Jira using SSO.
