RackWare Enables Container Migration to Oracle Cloud Container Engine for Kubernetes

To protect and optimize applications, many enterprise customers need migration and disaster-recovery solutions with a cost-effective, agile approach. Long-time Oracle partner RackWare has been working to solve the challenge of migrating pre-existing container deployments to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Container Engine for Kubernetes, also known as OKE. Container Engine for Kubernetes helps you deploy, manage, and scale Kubernetes clusters in the cloud. With it, organizations can build dynamic containerized applications by incorporating Kubernetes with services running on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

RackWare Container Management

We’re pleased to introduce RackWare’s solution to the migration challenge: RackWare Container Management. RackWare Container Management enables the migration of Kubernetes and OpenShift container platforms to Container Engine. It can also migrate container deployments from both on-premises and other cloud container services to Container Engine. The Oracle and RackWare partnership provides a seamless experience for migrating to Container Engine and securing customer workloads with dynamic provisioning and disaster recovery.

With RackWare Container Management, you don’t need to worry about existing storage, container platform versions, or other vendor ecosystems in place for your source application. Container Management does all the necessary conversions. You can replicate any containerized application, regardless of its scale, architecture, and use case, with zero disruption to your production workloads. This functionality makes RackWare Container Management a purely push-button, any-to-any, replication and disaster recovery solution.

Looking to the Future

More is on the horizon. RackWare plans to extend its strong pedigree in application resiliency in Linux and Windows by adding container disaster recovery to Container Management later this year. This addition enables disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS) for containers running in Container Engine for Kubernetes by replicating them live to remote geographic Oracle Cloud regions.
