As part of our continuing commitment to open standards and supporting a broad and varied ecosystem, we’re pleased to announce that Datadog has extended its cloud monitoring and security support to the new Arm-based Ampere A1 Compute offering on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
“We’re excited to extend Datadog support to the new Ampere A1 Compute shapes on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. We’ve seen a growing number of Datadog customers choose the Arm platform to improve application performance and lower costs,” said Jimmy Caputo, director of product management at Datadog. “With the Datadog Agent for Arm on OCI, Oracle customers can use Datadog to determine the best shapes for their workloads, track migrations from other compute platforms, and get a unified view into the health and performance of their environment.”
Datadog is a monitoring and security platform for cloud applications. The Datadog software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform integrates and automates infrastructure monitoring, application performance monitoring, and log management to provide unified, real-time observability of a customer’s entire technology stack.
Organizations of all sizes and in a range of industries use Datadog for the following goals:
Drive digital transformation and cloud migration
Enable collaboration among development, operations, security, and business teams
Accelerate time to market for applications
Reduce the time to resolve a problem
Secure applications and infrastructure
Understand user behavior
Track key business metrics
Datadog provides the following advantages:
Unified platform that covers all pillars of observability in a single application: Metrics, traces, logs, and more
Cloud agnostic: Built for the modern stack and deployable everywhere
Easy to use: Seamless correlation across data types, with no need to learn new querying languages
Data-driven, actionable alerting: Reduce alert fatigue with machine learning

The Datadog Agent is a lightweight software application that can be installed on your OCI Compute shapes, including bare metal and virtual machine (VM) Arm-based Ampere A1 Compute shapes.
The Agent collects metrics, traces, logs, and other data from the system and your applications. It sends the data to Datadog, where you can analyze your system’s health and performance using prebuilt and custom views. You can also configure monitors to alert you proactively when an issue occurs.
The Datadog Agent is open source, and its source code is available on GitHub. For detailed Agent installation, see the Datadog documentation.
