In February, we reduced the price of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) certification exams by more than 35% and made all related training content available for free. In March, we announced that the certification exams are available at no charge until May 15, 2020. Our goal is to give you the best possible learning and onboarding resources and help you build critical Oracle Cloud Infrastructure skills.

Since we made the announcement about free certification exams until May 15, we’ve received many questions about how to take advantage of this offer. In this post, I answer some of those frequently asked questions.

Which Oracle Cloud Infrastructure certification exams are included in this offer?

The following Oracle Cloud Infrastructure exams are available for free until May 15, 2020:

  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Foundations 2020 Associate (exam 1Z0-1085-20)
  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Developer 2020 Associate (exam 1Z0-1084-20)
  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure 2019 Architect Associate (exam 1Z0-1072)
  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure 2019 Architect Professional (exam 1Z0-997)
  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure 2019 Cloud Operations Associate (exam 1Z0-1067)

How do I schedule a certification exam with the 100% discount?

Follow these steps to receive the 100% exam discount.

Step 1: Access the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Learning Path

The following Oracle Cloud Infrastructure learning paths are available to you at no charge:

After you access the page for the path you’re interested in, click the certification name in the Certification box. The following screenshot shows the page for the Foundations Associate certification.

Note: If you schedule an exam directly through the Pearson VUE website, you won’t receive this discount.

Step 2: Register for the Exam

  1. If you have a Pearson VUE account, sign in as a returning user. If you don’t have a Pearson VUE account, click Create a web account and follow the instructions.

  2. Select how you want to take the exam. For example, to take the exam online at home, select At a home or office. You can also run a precheck for your machine. Then, click Next.

Note that the exam number has an "-F" suffix. This suffix designates that the exam has a 100% discount until May 15. After May 15, no suffix will appear.

Can I take these exams from home?

With many test centers closed around the globe, you can take these (and other) Oracle certification exams from home. Pearson VUE will assign you an online proctor for the exam. Learn more about taking the exam online.

Do I need to take the exam by May 15, 2020, to take advantage of the offer?

Yes, you need to schedule and take your exam by May 15, 2020, to receive the 100% discount.

Can I take multiple exams for free?

There is no limit to the number of different exams that you can take as part of this offer. Note that you have to schedule and take your exams by May 15, 2020.

Do you allow multiple attempts for the exams at no charge?

No, test takers are allowed only one attempt of each of the six certification exams for free as part of this offer. Learn more about the retake policy.

I’m experiencing online proctor issues with Pearson VUE. What should I do?

You might have to wait in a queue for the online proctor, or your environment might continue to hold and spin with no activity. At this time, Pearson VUE is experiencing increased demand for online proctors, and we recommend allowing extra time for your exam. If needed, you might have to reschedule to a later date.

My session ended abruptly. Can I reschedule a new appointment but still receive 100% discount?

Yes, if your session ends abruptly because of a technical issue, Pearson VUE will reinstate your discount and enable you to schedule a new appointment.
