Camp Dads 2008

Not wanting to break with tradition this weekend, being the weekend of Father's Day meant “Camp Dads”. A smaller number of campers but no less enjoyable weekend. Seven Dads, thirteen children and what turned out to be an overly pessimistic weather forecast. The smaller group worked really well as the children were more likely to play as one group.

Apologies to the man on the beach who was hit by the ball (one of the children seemed to have a knack of hitting or throwing the ball at people by accident). Thanks to the family who decided not to pitch their tent in the middle of the “rounders field”.

We followed the now traditional format of on Saturday, Beach and then back to the Camp Site for take away Curry. Then on Sunday strike camp and into the forest to find a stream and have a picnic before we all returned home very tired.

Camp Dads 2007

This weekend, being the weekend of Father's Day was the sixth annual Camp Dads trip. 14 Dads, 34 Children. Despite the weather this was the best Camp Dads ever. The usual format of the Beach on Saturday followed by Curry in the Camp Site, then on Sunday into the Forest (which due to the rain was less busy than previous years).

>All children returned undamaged however very tired. I on the other hand will be easy to spot due to my sun burnt nose. So I remembered to sun cream the children even though it was cloudy but forgot to do myself!

Camp Dads

Just returned from the fifth annual Camp Dads weekend. 13 dads, 28 children camping in the New Forest. With perfect weather there seemed little point in changing a winning formula from last year. So Saturday was on the beach and Sunday by the river with the Curry on Saturday night delivered to the campsite.

This years joke was:

Why do sea gulls fly over the sea?

Because if the flew over the Bay they would be Bagels.

Again you had to be there.

All the children returned safely and thankfully no sunburn.

Camp Dads

We survived the forth Annual Camp Dads. 13 Dads, 26 Children spent the weekend at a camp site in the New Forest. With scorching weather there was plenty of Sun Block used and only one place to go on Saturday.

The Beach.

This was probably all of the British Summer so we made the most of it. Swimming in the Sea eating Ice cream, playing beach cricket. Listening to very silly jokes. “Why are Pirates called Pirates?”............... ”because they Arrrre”, clearly you had to be there for that one.

Then Saturday evening and for the what had become traditional Camp Site Curry, pictured. We failed this year to get them to deliver but the take away was excellent.

After striking camp, Sunday was spent by the River at FordingBridge paddling and playing games in the shade offered by the trees.

All the Dads survived and so did all the children, which has to be a result.

Camp Dads

I'm off for a weekend Camping in the New Forest for what has become known as "Camp Dads".

About 14 Dads plus their children descend on a Camp Site for two nights. To camp in a way only we could; which means a Curry gets delivered on Saturday Night to the camp site!

No computers and more worryingly no cycling all weekend
