On the move...

I must be a rare being a Sun employee who has only worked in three locations in all the time I have been here, which is a long time.
However on Monday I get to move to the forth site of my Sun career. Now most people who are moving are concerned about whether the vending machines will have the right chocolate in them or the office will be to noisy or to quiet, my concerns are much more fundamental.
Is a 42 mile commute too far to cycle each day?
The current modest commute of 29 miles has over the last few years become slightly boring due to the repetitive nature of commuting, but has the distinct benefits of being achievable in about the same time as I can do it by car, and is moderately flat (which makes it boring) and relatively traffic free, which makes it pleasant. Plus I don't have to go to the gym or go swimming at lunch times to keep fit, saving time and money.
The new commute will share much of the route of the old, so so much for a change, but then during those extra seven miles each way some one has put a town and a hill. It's either keep cycling or drive and join a Gym, so I'll see how the cycling goes over the next few months and then look again.
