How fast? I have no idea.

Yesterdays ride home was not timed due to my speedo not working. What concerns me is how much I now dislike riding a bike without a speedo. I ordered a new one from Wiggle along with some energy food and drink. Today a parcel arrives but the speedo is on back order to I will have at least another day of riding without it. Grrrrr.

At least today when I collected the kids on the triplet they were happy about it since the weather was fine.

You might enjoy this piece which was one of the class readings for my Philosophy of Mind course. It discusses the feeling of speed under the category "non-conceptual content": even when you have a strong feeling of how fast you were going, you may not be able to conceptualize it: to put it into words, numbers, or other definite propositions. Anyway, enjoy!

Here in the States, the term "speedo" generally refers to a tiny skin-tight bathing suit - the kind men wear in Olympic races. I assume you are talking about something else. :-)

In England, "speedo" is short for "speedometer". The thought of Chris streaking┬╣ down the highway without his (US) speedo is terrifying.....
