Some excellent news from the CTC. Use of flashing front and rear lights on bikes should become legal in October. This will end the madness where I can have a flashing light attached to me but not one attached to my bike.
Better still, although I won't be taking advantage of this, a flashing light is all you will need.
To quote from the CTC press release:
In brief, to be legally approved a light may flash at least once and not more than four times per second with a brilliance of at least four candle-power. Most of the better quality flashing lights on sale today, meet that simple requirement.
