Count down to Felice Gimondi

The countdown is running. Fly out on Friday for the ride on Sunday. I've only had to ride to work twice this week and I was taking it easy to protect my knee which seems better but is now in my head. Since cycling is mostly in the head anyway this is a concern. As it the 5 day forecast for Milan which is the closest I can find on the web, showers, and quite cool, not exactly what I was wanting by travelling to Italy for the ride.

Hopefully the forecast will improve as we get closer. I'll be taking full waterproofs to make sure I can out bluff the weather. I can't imagine the weather being bad enough for me not to attempt the long ride but we will see.

Good luck Chris. Looks like the start might be pretty hairy from the picture. Are you taking a bike over there - I assume you are , how are you doing that putting it in a box ?

Best of luck Chris!
I note that your first climb is the Colle dei Pasta. How very appropriate :)

There appear to be three courses - which course are you doing - short (for wimps), medium or long (for hard men) ?

Thanks

I'm taking my best bike with me in a box and hoping the baggage handlers don't break it.

The intention is to do the longest ride which is why in addition to the 200 miles a week getting to and from work I've been getting some longer rides in as training.

It should be easy, however if it becomes competitive, which it will, it is going to hurt up the final climb.
