Build 34 - gdm2

Since open letters seem to be in this week, here is mine to my colleague Clive.

Dear Clive,

I must apologise for giving you some incorrect information on Friday. You asked if I had seen any problems with starting the graphical login when upgrading from build 33 to build 34. I said I had not which was not true.

Once again after the upgrade the system did not boot into mutli-user due to live upgrade creating the mount points for all the ZFS file systems I have. Since this means that the first ZFS mount would cover these empty directories it fails and I have to login and delete the directories and clear the error. Having done this the window system did not start but I assumed this was just a timing issue and started it by hand. Since then I had just been using the system remotely.

Today on booting the system the graphical did not start. On investigating all I had to do to get the graphical login is to enable the svc:/application/gdm2-login:default service.

Sorry for the misinformation.

Regards

Chris
