More travel beyond bay area

California is a beautiful land; I'll record few of my travels up and down the country before I forget them.
Highway 1
It appears in a Hollywood movie as one of the most insecure borders of United States. It is one of the most scenic roads in this side of the earth; It winds its way through cliffs, beaches and bluffs. (I assumed beach + cliff = bluff, but there is such a noun)

San Simeon
Down south in San Simeon region, there is a house atop of a hill; called Hearst Castle. Built by a rich man in 30's, the place is a odd mixture of a variety of architectural styles, but is too small to be a castle.

Still down are the huge sand dunes of Pismo beach; where I enjoyed riding an 4-wheeled sand buggy (aka all terrain vehicle)

Monterey
Another bay south of "the bay area" is Monterey bay; which has a big old cannery (where they used to pack fish) converted into a big aquarium. Notably amazing, is the gallery of jelly fish thin tanks brightly lit to make the jelly fish glow.

Mojave
Still south is the Mojave desert - a totally contrasting landscape; desert vegetation and strangely colored hills. We say the American equivalent of Stone Henge.

While traveling the desert during night, we say a clear effect of light pollution, it was a moon less night, and there was a small town in the distance. Light from the town had lit up the clouds above. (you can observe such an phenomenon from the plane

Las Vegas
A desert city thriving on gambling; full of old people busy putting quarter doller coins in machines, like zombies..

Grand Canyon
If you have seen bugs bunny's Jack-Wabbit And The Beanstalk movie, the gaint falls on the earth and makes a big crack and impression in the ground; well that is now called Grand Canyon - it is too big and looks quite unnatural.
