To install and use them run gdmsetup or gdmconfig, if you have enabled GDM (gdm2-login) service in Solaris.
Comments:

You mean you can replace DTLogin with GDM in Solaris 10?

Yes you can do that by disabling dtlogin first, then enabling GDM service, when logged in console mode:
# /usr/dt/bin/dtconfig -d
# svcadm enable gdm2-login
The only disadvantage is GDM does yet not seem to work with auditing enabled.

Right now in Opensolaris you have to do: # svcadm disable cde-login # svcadm enable gdm
