  • Keep your certifications active based on Oracle's new Recertification Policy.
  • View direct links below under the Quick Links section.

Both OCA to OCP certification paths require training that can be taken either before or after the exam.

Additionally, Oracle Database Administrator OCPs who want to upgrade to 11g or 12c can upgrade the OCP certification by passing one of these betas. No additional training is required for upgrading OCPs. This allows Oracle Certified Professional upgrade candidates to enjoy a reduced upgrading cost of US$50.

hi i have 10g OCA and completed 10g "introduction to sql" training course .

will this 10g training be considered for 12c ocp upgrade path

    regards Sampath

  • Brandye Barrington Tuesday, December 23, 2014

    Sampath,

The 10g training will not fulfill the training requirement for 12c. My recommendation to you is that you complete your 10g OCP path before the exams retire on March 1, 2015. You will pass exam 043, then submit your training. Once your 10g OCP certification is granted, you will take the 060 exam to upgrade to 12c. Additional training will not be required to upgrade.

I have completed IZO-007 exam 2 years back, Now i want to complete my certification of 10G OCP DBA and also want to upgrade from 10G OCP DBA to 11G OCP DBA. Following are my queries

    1. My IZ0-007 result is valid to complete 10G OCP certification?

    2. Is it necessary that to complete my 10G OCP DBA papers before 1 Mar 2015

    3. What is the retake policy in this scenario

    4. Is it necessary to appear 11G upgrade exam before 1 Mar 2015.

    1. Yes, your 007 exam results are valid toward the 10g DBA OCA certification. You will only need to pass the 052 exam to earn that certification.

    2. Yes, it is necessary to pass all 10g exams before March 1, 2015. They will retire on that date and no longer be available.

    3. All retakes must be completed by March 1, 2015 as well. It is advisable that you allow plenty of time to retake the exam in the event that a retake is required.

    4. It will be necessary to upgrade your certification to 11g or 12c by March 1, 2016 (not March 1, 2015).

One note here - the 007 exam will also count toward the 11g certification as well. If your ultimate goal is to get to 11g, you may want to consider starting there instead of at the 10g version. The only reason I'd suggest going ahead and trying to complete the 10g certification before March 1 is if your training is in 10g. If your required training is in 10g, it will not count toward 11g certification, so you'd need to complete the 10g certification and later upgrade to 11g. If you go directly for the 11g certification, you'll need to complete 11g or 12c training.

    Abinaya,

You can compare your course objectives with the exam objectives to see where the knowledge gaps are.

OU recently posted some information on certification and job opportunities http://bit.ly/1EeqwKK.

    Hi,

This is Udayalakshmi from Bahwan Cybertek, India.

I completed my OCP examinations(upto 1z0-043). But still I didnt received my hans on certificate from the institue where I joined for OCP certification.

Am I able to submit my course completion certificate after March 1,2015?

Does Oracle acknowledge and provide me OCP certification?

    Thanks

    Abinaya,

Surveys have shown that certification can help you get better opportunities and better salary, but much of this depends on the person. Your personal skills, experience and work ethic will come into play. It will also depend on job availability in your region and how much competition there is for the jobs that are available.

I would say that with certificaiton, you are giving yourself the best chance possible of a good job with good pay. There are other factors that you should consider as well.

Regarding syllabus, you could compare the couse syllabus to the exam topics on the Oracle Certification website certification.oracle.com.

    Udayalakshmi,

You will be able to submit your course details until September 1, 2015. I would recommend going ahead and submitting the details. The team may be able to verify the details even if your training institute has not yet provided you with the course completion certificate.

    Matt,

If you've passed the 10g OCA and OCP exams, but have not yet submitted a course form, you have until September 1, 2015 to do so. You can take the 11g or 12c version of any course that is on the 10g approved courses list.

You will need to take the course and submit the course form http://bit.ly/1l1GFFr before September 1.

    Hi ,

    Im 10g oca certified.

    Is the certification still valid?

I would like to upgrade from 10g oca to 12c oca.

Kindly guide me what all exams I have to take.

  • guest Wednesday, February 3, 2016

    Mudra,

You will need to upgrade by March 1 to keep your 10g oca active. To upgrade to 12c oca, you will need to pass exam 1Z0-062. You can find other upgrade options on our website https://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=860&sc=WWOU15043965MPP001C002.

If your certification becomes inactive on March 1, you will still be able to upgrade after that date and reactivate your certification.
