Sun Certification Now Integrated With Oracle Certification Program

Guest Author
Effective September 1, Sun certifications have been republished and re-branded under the Oracle certification program.

If you achieve a
Java, Oracle Solaris, MySQL or OpenOffice certification after September
1, you will receive a new Oracle Certification title. If you are in the
process of preparing for an exam, rest assured that the format and
objectives of these exams will not be changing and your voucher(s), will
still be valid through the expiration date and redeemable at prometric.com.
If you are currently Sun Certified, your certification with the Sun
Certification title, will be fully recognized under the Oracle program.

If you are considering a certification, wait no more! These
credentials will continue to be some of the highest recognized
achievements in the industry. Learn more!

Will the questions change as an effect of this transition? I have trained for Sun Certified Web Component Developer from Sun Education center so will that now be okay to clear the exam. Are the exam questions and patterns changing too?

Hi Shuddhashil - the exams have the exact same format (and objectives too). Although questions are always being revised, no new changes have take place between the former [Sun] processes and now.

Thank you Sir , I would be appearing for OCWCD exam next Sunday and I hope everything works well as my previous SCJP exam. I have prepared well and practiced a lot of mock exams and hope to clear it if the exam objectives and syllabus remains the same. Thank you once again sir.

I was disappointed to notice that you only approve comments/ questions, which may have obvious and simple answers! :-(
I posted a question on the release date of Sun Java Programmer Plus certification (declared by Sun in 2009), a couple of days back, which was neither answered nor appeared in this web page.

    Hi Mala,
We had somehow missed a whole group of blog comments. We do not intentionally choose not to post blog comments unless they are inappropriate.
To answer your question, we do not have any information on a release date for Sun Java Programmer Plus certification at this time. To keep up with any new and upcoming releases in the Oracle Certification Program, you can check our New and Upcoming Releases page http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=224. When we have information on any upcoming certifications, we'll post them here.
    Regards,

    Ravikumar,
You can login to your account on www.certmanager.net/sun to ensure that your certification has been completed, verify that your address is correct and see when your certificate has been mailed. If the certificate has been mailed, please allow 4 weeks from the ship date to receive the certificate in the mail.
If it has been more than 4 weeks from the ship date, please verify your address in certmanager.net/sun and send an email to suncert_ww@oracle.com to confirm that you've validated or updated your address and to request a reshipment.
If you need assistance with your login credentials for certmanager, please contact suncert_ww@oracle.com.
