Oracle Retires Oracle Internet Application Developer Rel. 6i OCP Track

Oracle has retired the Oracle Internet Application Developer Rel. 6i Certified Professional (OCP) certification track and its related exams.

Those working with Oracle PL/SQL and Forms are encouraged to earn the newer Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate (OCA), Oracle Advanced PL/SQL Developer Certified Professional (OCP), and Oracle Forms Developer Certified Professional (OCP) certifications.

On April 30, 2009, Oracle retired the following four exams:

  • 1Z0-001 – Introduction to Oracle: SQL and PL/SQL
  • 1Z0-101 – Develop PL/SQL Program Units
  • 1Z0-131 – Build Internet Applications I
  • 1Z0-132 – Build Internet Applications II

Exams 1Z0-001 and 1Z0-101 were also part of several Oracle certification tracks that are not being retired. Those who passed these exams prior to April 30, 2009 were awarded credit towards the non-retired certification tracks.

ALTERNATES FOR EXAM 1Z0-001
Exam 1Z0-001 was only one of four SQL-related exam options; the remaining exam options currently available are:

CERTIFICATION VALIDITY
Please note that for those holding the Internet Application Developer Rel. 6i OCP certification that the credential remains valid indefinitely. This retirement therefore has no effect on those currently holding the certification or who completed the certification requirements before April 30.

Hi Wilson,
You can go to workforce.oracle.com and select Nigera as your country. There are a few Workforce Development training centers in Nigeria. This may be your best option for obtaining training.

You can see the certification requirements on our website here http://bit.ly/zRfX8K. You may also consider contacting Oracle University's Africa Operations if you need additional assistance.

If I have previously passed Exam 1Z0-001 and Exam 1Z0-101, will these still apply towards the Oracle Advanced PL/SQL Developer Certified Professional certification? If that is the case, I only lack Exam 1Z0-146, correct?

Thanks,
Jason

Yes, these will still apply.

Hi, I passed 4 exams required for Oracle Internet Application Developer Rel. 6i OCP and was certified in 2002. One of those exams was previously required for Oracle9i Database Administrator Certified Associate (OCA) and I just needed to pass 1Z0-031 (Oracle 9i Database Fundamentals) to obtain that certification. Is this still valid (have I been awarded credit towards the non-retired certification track) or do I now require to pass another exam due to 1Z0-001 retiring? Thank you!

Your 001 exam will count toward your 9i OCA certification. However, you may want to consider a more current certification than 9i. We have 11g available now.

I did my Oracle Developer 6i certification in year 2000. How can I upgrade my certification now? Please advise.

Hi Ashan,
If you hold the 6i certification, you can upgrade to Oracle Forms Developer Certified Professional certification by passing the 140 exam. You can find more info on our website http://bit.ly/15sALcs.

Good luck with this upgrade!

Hi, i took training of 10G from WDP and got the participation certificate also. But i have not cleared any exam. Now if i give all three exam of Oracle 11G DBA OCP credit (1z0-051,52,53), will i get my OCP 11G certificate. (As the instructor led training is done on 10g). If no, please suggest me the alternative way to get my OCP 11G without the training as i have learned everything in my company.

The 10g training will not fulfill the training requirement for 11g certification. You will need to follow the 10g DBA OCA and OCP paths and then upgrade to 11g DBA OCP via a single exam.
