Comments:

Kudos to the fantastic Oracle Certification Program team for the rich offering of certification exams. The R12 exams do indeed cover a wider horizon as well as provide opportunity for certification with just 1 combo-exam (e.g INV+OM) after the foundation exam, instead of 2 exams earlier. Certification candidates are indeed looking forward to the bonanza offered by extending the R12 beta exam deadline. To encourage candidates worldwide to write the beta exams, the Oracle Certified Professionals blog has announced a R12 beta challenge. On behalf of all certification candidates worldwide, thanks once again!

Hi Aslam - you are correct that the beta period closes on 31-Jan for the two following exams: "Oracle E-Business Suite R12: Inventory and Purchasing Fundamentals" (1Z0-225) and "Oracle E-Business Suite R12: Inventory and Order Management Fundamentals" (1Z0-226). But the live exams won't be ready until early April, as there is an extensive process we go through using the beta results data to construct the final live exam. There is some good helpful information here about Oracle beta exams. Good luck! - Harold

It would be good to take a look at the discussions on the OTN Certification Forum (http://bit.ly/HGWo) to see and discuss what others are doing as well.

Question- I took the course R12.x Oracle Financials New Features Fundamentals. Can I use this course as the required exam for multiple certification tracks? Thank you in advance for your reply. Beth

Posted by Beth on May 31, 2011 at 12:44 PM PDT #

Beth, it depends on which certification tracks you are pursuing. If you are pursuing more than one of the R12 Finincials or Supply Chain certifications, only one course is required. For example, if you obtain the R12 Payables Certified Expert using this course as your required training, you may obtain R12 Receivables Certified Expert without taking another course. The 1Z0-226 exam is one step in the certification path to E-Business Suite R12 Supply Chain Certified Expert Consultant, Order Management. However, you will not receive a certificate after passing only this exam. If you have only passed this exam, you are not certified yet. You must complete the path by passing also the 1Z0-204 exam, completing a training course and the course submission form. You can view the full certification path on our website here http://bit.ly/baee.

Oracle does not endorse specific 3rd party books for exam prep, but you can post this question on our Certification Forum http://bitly.com/iRHsSl and you will probably get some feedback.

Hello All

I am planning for R12 Financials Certified Expert Consultant, Payables certification.
On Certification path, i can see 2 exams and
3 courses(E bis essentials, GL and Payables)
Exams:
1. E business Essentials (1Z0-204)
2. GL and Payables Fundamentals(1Z0-215)

My question is do i need to take all 3 courses(Live or instructor led) in order to complete course submission form andget certification?

Thanks

Posted by Vishal on July 11, 2011 at 09:20 AM PDT #

Hi Vishal,
As you can see on http://bit.ly/W6Mr, the requirement for this certification is to complete one training course and pass the two exams. Please also remember to submit your course form. If you will click on the training link on that page, it will take you to a list of courses that will fulfill the training requirement. The courses listed on the exam page are the courses that we recommend to best prepare you for the exam. You may take one or both of the courses on the exam page (it is not required to take both), or you can select another course from the longer list, but you only have to complete one course to qualify for certification.

Hi Shekhar,
I'm sorry, but I am not able to help you with career opportunities. You would do better to contact a staffing or employment agency and also do some research on career websites to see that the demand is in your region. I can tell you that in past surveys that have been sponsored by Oracle and also by independent organizations, certification can help candidates get a job over candidates who are not certified.

Hi,

I am confused a little bit about the certification exams. I already took 1Z0-204 exam. I was planning to take 1Z0-215 for Payables and 1Z0-216 for Receivables. Now I see 1Z0-516, 517, 518 for GL, AP, and AR respectively, which are not paired with any other exam and also do not require any Oracle course.

Can you please enlighten me as to what path I should take? I have been an Oracle Financials Functional consultant for past 5 years.

Thanks in advance,
-Sri

Posted by guest on April 19, 2012 at 10:12 AM PDT #

Hi Sri,
Typically the Expert and Professional certifications are a little higher level certification. The multi-exam path and training requirement give the candidate a more well-rounded preparation path. One goal of the required training is to provide Oracle's best practices. A more rigid path typically helps a candidate to better prepare for a job-role rather than just passing a certification exam. Good luck on your path!

Posted by guest on April 24, 2012 at 06:35 AM PDT #

You can go to http://bit.ly/He4OVI and select 'Applications' at #2, select 'Oracle E-business Suite' at #3 and you will see all the R12 Oracle E-business Suite certifications available. You can have a look at the available certifications and if you click on one, you will be taken to a page that provides the requirements. There is no single exam that will cover all the areas of interest that you mention above. Often there is not a single exam for a certification as well - there may be multiple exams plus training required. Have a look through the website to evaluate the path(s) you wish to follow.

Raj,
You can have a look at our website here http://bit.ly/K4hvdt to determine the requirements for Oracle EBS R12 Financials Payables certification. If your training was delivered by an Oracle Authorized training partner, or by Oracle University, and it is in the approved training list (linked to on the referenced page) it will count toward your training requirement in this path. If not, you will need to complete a training course that is on the list and you will need to take the course at an Oracle Partner location or at Oracle University.

Hi,

I am having total 12 years of work experience in Oracle financials , have also attended bootcamp for R12 too from oracle Bangalore, have done 8 implementations in all the oracle financial modules.

I was in TCS for 9 years. I recently resigned TCS.
Want to proceed for R12 Certifications in the financial modules.

Could you guide me how to proceed with certifications without undertaking any trainings as I have implementation experience.

Best Regards
Vandana Jhamb

Could you

Vandana,
I suggest that you visit certification.oracle.com and go to the View All Certifications link. From there, you will see all the R12 certifications available. When you click on the certification you wish to pursue, you will be taken to a page that gives the certification requirements. At this time, I believe that none of the R12 Financials certifications require training.

From the track page (the page that shows the requirements), you can click on the exam title to be taken to a page where you can review the exam topics.

Hi
I have 12 years experience in Supply chain ( business). Currently my company is implementing Oracle. I like to work as a functional consultant and hence like to do certification in any supply chain module like order management or purchasing, APO or OTM.But in Oracle university ,the links are so confusing. Can anybody guide me whether such certification requires training and how much will be the cost for that.
Also what us the duration of the course.

Noor,
You can view all available certifications here http://bit.ly/WP03i1. Click on the certification that you are interested in pursuing. You will see the requirements on that page. I believe that for most of these Supply Chain certifications, training is not required.

From the requirements page, you can click on the exam title. This will take you to a page that provides the exam details - passing score, number of questions, cost of exam, recommended training, exam topics, etc.

I hope this helps.

Sameer,
You can get all the information you need on exam details on our website at certification.oracle.com. This will include exam numbers, recommended training and exam topics.

Training is not required for these certifications, but is strongly recommended. However, you can prepare through self-study.
