Beta Period Closed For Two MySQL 5.6 Exams

The beta period is closed for MySQL 5.6 Developer (exam 1Z1-882) and MySQL 5.6 Database Administrator (exam 1Z1-883), and registration is open for the production versions of the exams.

The Oracle Certified Professional, MySQL 5.6 Developer (OCP) and Oracle Certified Professional, MySQL 5.6 Database Administrator (OCP) certifications are designed for individuals who possess a strong knowledge of the skills, tools and issues involved in writing applications with the MySQL database server.

The bar has been raised on the MySQL version 5.6 certifications, with an increased focus on speed and schema as well as security, replication and optimization. The exam covers topics such as architecture, general syntax, creation and design of MySQL topics, creation, design and use of MySQL stored programs, querying for and modifying data, joins subqueries and UNIONS, application development and basic optimization.
