Oracle to Retire Select Certification Exams on July 31

Oracle will retire several certification exams and certification tracks on July 31, 2013.   Newer versions of many of these certifications are available.  Existing certification holders should note that these retirements suspend the delivery of any further exams, but do not affect your certification.  If you currently hold a certification earned by one of these exams, your credential remains fully valid.

Certification paths to be retired July 31*:
  • Oracle9i Database Administrator Certified Associate
  • Oracle9i Database Administrator Certified Professional
  • Hyperion Essbase 9.3 Developer Certified Expert
  • Hyperion Financial Management 9.3 Administrator Certified Expert
  • Hyperion Planning 9.3 Administrator Certified Expert
  • Oracle Application Server 10g Administrator: Certified Associate
  • Oracle Application Server 10g Administrator: Certified Professional
  • Oracle Certified Expert, NetBeans Integrated Development Environment 6.1 Programmer
Exams to be retired July 31:
  • 1Z0-007 Introduction to Oracle9i: SQL
  • 1Z0-031 Oracle9i Database: Fundamentals I
  • 1Z0-032 Oracle9i Database: Fundamentals II
  • 1Z0-033 Oracle9i Database: Performance Tuning
  • 1Z0-264 Hyperion Essbase 9.3 Developer
  • 1Z0-271 Hyperion Financial Management 9.3 Administrator I & II
  • 1Z0-272 Hyperion Planning 9.3 Administrator I & II
  • 1Z0-311 Oracle Application Server 10g: Administration I
  • 1Z0-312 Oracle Application Server 10g: Administration II
  • 1Z0-889 NetBeans Integrated Development Environment 6.1 Programmer Certified Expert Exam

These exams will continue to be offered through July 31, 2013. Candidates pursuing these certification paths must successfully complete the required certification exams by this date. Re-takes will not be available after this date. For more information see Oracle Certification retirements.

*Exams 1Z0-141 and 1Z0-147 were originally on this retirement list, but have been removed. These exams currently have no retirement date and will continue to be delivered after July 31, 2013.

I want to do the Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate certification.Since some of the certificates are going to be invalidated on 31st july,I wanted to know the new list for the exams,so that I can decide best option for my criteria.

Posted by guest on March 16, 2013 at 01:14 AM PDT #

@ Guest on March 14,
1Z0-032 is not a training course, it is an exam. You will find the courses that will fulfill the training requirement to 9i DBA OCP on our website here http://bit.ly/YCH5qQ. I am not able to tell from your post if you have completed the 9i DBA OCA path, but that certification is also a prerequisite to 9i DBA OCP. You can find the certification path here http://bit.ly/MUdg2p.

@ Guest on Mar 16,
As you can see on our website http://bit.ly/NlTqtO, the path to obtain the PL/SQL Developer OCA is:

One of these exams (007, 047 or 051)
Plus one of these exams (147 and 144)

On July 31, 007 and 147 are retiring. That leaves the certification path as:

One of these exams (047 or 051)
Plus exam 144

I am an Oracle Certified Associate on 9i (passed 1Z0-007 Introduction to Oracle9i: SQL and 1Z0-031 Oracle9i Database: Fundamentals I).
Now I'm planning to get OCA 10g in OCTOBER, maybe NOVEMBER. Shall I have to pass 1Z0-042 Oracle Database 10g Administrator Certified Associate ONLY or will I have to pass - also and alternatively, since 1Z0-007 will be retired at the time - 1Z0-047 Oracle Database SQL Expert OR 1Z0-051 Oracle Database 11g: SQL Fundamentals I)?
Thanks

Your passing score on the 007 exam remains valid. When you go for the 10g OCP later this year, you will need to pass 042 and 043. You will also need to take a 10g or 11g course to fulfill the training requirement.

If you have already taken a 9i course that will fulfill the training requirement, I suggest you do your best to complete the 032 and 033 exams before the retirement date and then upgrade to 10g via a single exam. This way, you will not need to invest in additional training. A 9i course will not fulfill the training requirement for a 10g certification.

I hope this helps without confusing you more!

Brandye Barrington

Sorry, but...
You DO have confused me more (better said, I guess you didn't answer my case).
You wrote:
"Your passing score on the 007 exam remains valid." -> Ok, thanks
than you wrote:
"When you go for the 10g OCP later this year, you will need to pass 042 and 043" -> I am NOT interested in 10g OCP and no training courses involved.
I ONLY want to be OCA 9i (and I already am) and OCA 10g *later this year*, when 007 (which I have already passed to get OCA 9i) will be retired.
Simply put: in OCTOBER/NOVEMBER can I go for OCA 10g by simply passing 042? Will 042 be the ONLY exam I will have to pass?
Thanks

I am interested to give a exam of Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associat.if i give it after 31st july which exams should i prepare because some of them are retiring.

Posted by guest on March 22, 2013 at 02:32 AM PDT #

Regarding 10g OCA certification - yes, you will be able to get 10g OCA by only passing 042 exam.

Regarding PL/SQL Developer OCA - you will be able to obtain this certification by passing the exams that have not retired.
1Z0-047 or 1Z0-051
plus
1Z0-144

I have already done the exam 1Z0-147 (Program with PL/SQL). I'm planing to take Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate, by doing 1Z0-047 or 1Z0-051. If I do one of the exams (1Z0-047 or 1Z0-051), after July 31st, can I obtain the OCA certification? Since I have alreay passed the exam 1Z0-147, is it valid after July 31st to consider for OCA certification?
Thanks in advanced.

Yes, if you have already passed an exam, the exam results remain valid even if the exam retires.

Dear Sir,

I have passed 3 exams of Oracle 9i. (IZ0-007, IZ0-031, IZ0-032) the only remaining exam is IZ0-033 (Performance Tuning). Do i need to give the exam before 31st July or there is any other way to give 1 paper and upgrade my self to Oracle 11G without giving IZ0-033? Please suggest me at earliest.

Owais

Posted by guest on March 29, 2013 at 12:05 AM PDT #

Owais,
There is no way to upgrade to 11g with the exams that you have currently taken, because you do not yet hold the 9i DBA OCP certification. If you want to complete the 9i DBA OCP certification, you will need to pass the 031 exam by July 31 and you will also need to complete training and submit the course requirement form to verify the training.

If you do not pass the 033 exam by July 31, you will need to follow the path below to obtain the 11g DBA OCP certification:
- pass exam 052
- complete 11g training
- pass exam 053
- complete course submission form.

Hello,

I have already done
-OCA(1Z0-007 + 1Z0=147) in year 2007.
-OCP(OCA+ 1Z0-141) in year 2008.

Can I appear for Advanced Professional Certification Path – Option 2 ?
STEP 3 – PASS THIS EXAM
1Z0-146 Oracle 11g Advanced PL/SQL and again get OCP (Oracle Advanced PL/SQL Developer Certified Professional) second time.

Posted by salman on April 01, 2013 at 06:23 AM PDT #

@Zaki,Yes, as is indicated on the track page http://bit.ly/NlTqtO, you have completed the first two steps of this path. You can obtain the certification by passing the 146 exam.

@Salman, As you can see on the certification track page http://bit.ly/NlTqtO, exam 1Z0-147 is a valid alternative to 1Z0-144. You can find the exam topics on our website. Go to the track page and click on the 147 exam link. This will take you to a page that provides all the exam details.

@Salman 144 is not going to retire. 1z0-147 Program with PL/SQL is the one that is going to be retired.

I will take IZO-007 Introduction to Oracle9i SQL and IZO-047 - Program with PL/SQL before it retires. From then on, if I pass I will an OCA (Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate). With prior to this certification, I will take IZO-046 - Oracle Database 11g: Advanced PL/SQL for an OCP certification (Oracle Advanced PL/SQL Developer Certified Professional) on August. This is valid, right?

The path that you mention is valid. However, you have some of the exam numbers wrong. It is 007, 147 and 146. If you are not able to take 147 before it retires on July 31, 2013, you will be able to take the 144 exam to obtain the PL/SQL Developer OCA certification.

Hi,

I am 11g PL/SQL OCA. I am planning to get 11g Oracle Database OCA at the end of 2013.
As part of 11g PL/SQL OCA I took 1ZO-007 and this one is getting retired end of July 2013.
Past of this date, will I be able to take only 1ZO-052 to get the 11g Oracle Database OCA, or will I be required to re-take a newer exam for SQL Fundaments also?

Thank you,

Posted by guest on April 10, 2013 at 03:24 PM PDT #

@Vinoth,
Yes, if you pass those two exams, you will receive the OCA PL/SQL Developer Certification.

@Guest,
Your 007 exam results will remain valid. You will not need to re-take a SQL exam.

I have completed my OCA - Oracle pl/sql developer certified associate in december 2009 in 9i (007 and 147)

I now want to do OCP.
Please suggest if i have to give only 1 exam as i have cleared 2 already or i have to give 3 exams.
In whichever case please help me with exam numbers.

Thanks in advance!1

Posted by guest on April 15, 2013 at 10:37 AM PDT #

Regarding the replacement for the 141 exam, the new certification is Oracle Certified Professional, Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Forms Developer http://bit.ly/11npZBy.

@Shahid, you do not need to upgrade your certification before the July 31, 2013 retirement date. Your certification will remain valid. That said, the recommendation is that you stay current with the current version of certification. Good luck with your upgrade when you decide to do it!

@Guest on April 15, it depends on what OCP certification you wish to pursue. If you have the PL/SQL Developer OCA certification, you can move on to Oracle Forms Developer Certified Professional or Oracle Advanced PL/SQL Developer Certified Professional by passing only a single exam. Keep in mind that exam 141 that leads to the Forms Developer certification, will retire on July 31, 2013.

Hi, I need assistance
I passed 1z0-147 exam few days ago. And I didn't know that this exam will be retired soon. So, will I recieve OCA cert? Or I have to pass 144 exam? In my certview profile I cant see OCA login, altrough - 48 hours passed.
Thanks a lot

Posted by Xavio on April 18, 2013 at 09:37 AM PDT #

Xavio,
In order to obtain the OCA certification, you must pass the 147 (or 144) exam as well as a SQL exam - 007, 051 or 047. If you have only passed 147, you will not yet receive the certification. You will see the exam result in CertView, but not the certification.

Hi,
I am working on getting OCA 11g DBA cert. I have already passed 007. I do plan on taking IZO-052 by June, but just in case, do I need to have it done before July 31 to get the cert? Thanks.

Posted by RD on April 18, 2013 at 06:32 PM PDT #

Hi,

I need to get OCA certfication done, but not sure which exams to take. i was planning to take up 1Z0-007 + 1Z0-147 in couple of months and had started preparing for the same. But, i got to know that these exams are retiring on 31st July. I want to know if i can still take up these exams or should i look for another alternative(1z0-051 + 1z0-144)?

I have been an IT professional for 2.5 yrs with 1.5 years of experience on PL/SQL. I am familiar to 10g. will it be a good idea to take up exams on 11g at this point of time?

TIA.

Posted by guest on April 19, 2013 at 06:21 AM PDT #

@RD, You do not need to complete your certification path by the retirement date. Your 007 exam results will remain valid, even after the exam retires, and you can apply them toward your certification - even after the exam retires.

@TIA, If you were not planning to take the 007 and 147 exams before July 31, 2013, then you will need to plan for alternative exams. The PL/SQL Developer OCA certification does not have a version, so you do not need to worry about which version to pursue.

Lots of questions!

Q: What is the retake policy for the following exams:
--1Z0-032 Oracle9i Database: Fundamentals II
--1Z0-033 Oracle9i Database: Performance Tuning
A: Retake policy is the same for all exams. You must wait 14 days before retaking any failed exam - https://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=138#2_1

Q: I need some information that When Oracle will be releasing Oracle 11g OCA and OCP to test centers.
A: 11g exams have been in test centers for quite some time. You can to go to pearsonvue.com/oracle and view available test centers and exams.

Q: i have completed my 1Z0-007 certification succesfully, and i am planning for the next path. thata is 1Z0-031...this certification is getting experied on 31st july.. what i have to do if i cant take up before that? what is the alternative?
A:First, you have passed the 007 exam - there is a difference between exam and certification. The next step to obtain the 9i DBA OCA certification is to take the 031 exam. If you cannot complete that path by July 31, 2013, you should consider pursuing the 10g or 11g OCA certifications. For 10g, you would need to pass exam 042. For 11g, you would need to pass exam 052. The biggest consideration here is have you completed training and in what version? If your training is in 9i, and you wish to move on to OCP certification, you will need to pass exams 031, 032 and 033 before July 31, 2013. Otherwise, if you plan to pursue a later version of certification like 10g or 11g, you will need to complete training on that version. Your 9i training will not count toward 10g or 11g OCP certification. Keep in mind that this only applies if you plan to go on to complete OCP certification.

Q: I want to appear for IZO-007 in the month of may 2013, pl. send me list of testing centers with contacts at karachi pakistan
A: You can get a list of test centers at pearsonvue.com/oracle/locate.

Q: I want to give Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate exam which papers is best for me.
How much it will cost me in Mumbai Maharashtra.
Can i give exams without training if yes what is the procedure.
A: You can find the requirements for PL/SQL OCA certification on our website http://bit.ly/NlTqtO. I suggest you visit the Certification Forum http://bit.ly/Lt5vhm and search on these two exams to get some more information and help determine which exam is right for you. You can find cost on our website by clicking out to the exam details page from the track page http://bit.ly/NlTqtO. Training is recommended but not required for the PL/SQL OCA certification. You will simply go to pearsonvue.com/oracle to register for the exams.

Q: what is difference between Proctored Exams and Non Proctored Exams.
I want to appear in 1Zo-007 Exam. How can i register as proctored or non proctored exam
A: A proctored exam must be taken at a test center with a proctor, or a person overseeing the exam. A non-proctored exam can be taken online from your own computer, or you can go to a test center to take it if your environment or internet connection are not sufficient to support taking the exam from your location. There are very few exams that are available to be delivered as non-proctored. To register for an exam, go to pearsonvue.com/oracle and select 'Schedule a Test.' Then select Proctored or Non-Proctored and follow the instructions for registration.

Yes, you can apply your 001 exam results to the 9i or 11g OCA. You would only need to pass the 052 exam. You'll need to be sure that you use the same Oracle Testing ID that you used for your 001 exam.

Students who pass the exam 007 until 31/07/2013, may perform the 042 after 31/07/2013?

Thank you!

Posted by OCA 10g on May 27, 2013 at 05:43 PM PDT #

@Ankush, I suggest that you start by having a look through our website at certification.oracle.com.

@guest May 23, I don't have a retirement date for this exam at this time. However, any retirement will be announced well in advance. Additionally, when the 147 exam retires, candidates can still obtain the PL/SQL Developer OCA certification by passing the 144 exam.

@guest May 27, Yes, if you pass 007 before the retirement date of July 31, 2013, you can still take the 042 exam after that date and obtain the certification.

So my query is if I pass this 007 before 31st july and pass 147 after 31st July, will ,y certification be completed? Or do I have to re appear for 047/051 to complete the "Associate Certificate Path"

1Z0-147 does not retire on 31st right?

Hi Brandye,
I am planning to complete my OCA - Oracle pl/sql developer certified associate track. For this, I have already passed STEP 1 –EXAM 1Z0-007 Introduction to Oracle9i SQL®, which is retiring on 31st of July 2013. I am planning to give STEP 2 -EXAM 1Z0-147 Program with Pl/Sql. My query is if I give this exam (1Z0-147) before or even after 31st of July 2013, would i get my OCA - Oracle pl/sql developer certified associate certification done? Would i need to give exam STEP 1 -1Z0-047 or 1Z0-051, if I give STEP 2 -EXAM 1Z0-147 after 31st of July 2013. (Since STEP 1 –EXAM 1Z0-007 is retiring)?

Thanks and Regards,

Posted by Aniket Waghavkar on June 11, 2013 at 09:01 AM PDT #

@Sneha,Yes - if you pass 007 before July 31, the exam results will remain valid after July 31 and you will only be required to pass the 147 exam.

@Guest - you are correct. The 147 exam does not retire on July 31.

@Hani - Your exam result for the 007 exam does not retire on July 31. No new candidates will be able to take the 007 exam after that date, but any exams that were taken before that date remain valid in a certification path.

@Aniket - you will not need to complete another SQL exam. Your 007 exam results will remain valid.

Hello

I am new to Oracle but having great expereinced in MS SQL, now want switch to Oracle and I plan to go for 1Z0-051 and 1Z0-052 exams, regarding these exams bit confused about training requirement so without training requirement I cannot attend the exam? or what is training requirement?

Thanks

Posted by Rashid on June 17, 2013 at 11:52 PM PDT #

Hi Rashid,
The two exams that you mention, 051 and 052, lead to the 11g DBA OCA certification. Training is not required for this certification. Additionally, training is not required prior to taking an exam. If you are looking at the exam details page, each page shows recommended training. This training is provided as the best resource to help prepare for the exam. It is recommended that you take this training to help you prepare for the exam, but it is not required.

I have already taken 1Z0-007 and completed hands on course requirement. Can i take remaining exams till Jul 31, 2013 and then apply for certification after Jul 31. ?

In my understanding the time taken (6-8 weeks) for awarding certification can be after counted after July 31 also.

Please clarify .

Sandeep,
As long as exam 007 is passed before July 31, the results remain valid. So you can take all of your exams before July 31 and then receive your certificate after July 31.

Posted by guest on July 01, 2013 at 03:54 AM PDT #

@MB, yes, you can take the 007 exam before July 31 and any other exams in your path after July 31 (provided the other exams do not retire on July 31 as well.) Your 007 exam results will remain valid after July 31.

@Guest, you'll either need to take the 007 exam prior to July 31, or you will need to prepare for a different SQL exam (047, 051 or 061) if you plan to take the exam after July 31.

Hi I am currently a Oracle 9i OCA (passed 1z0-007 and 1Z0-031) now that the two exams I need to become a OCP,32 & 33, are retiring, what will I need to take to upgrade or to become a OCP DBA for 10g and up?

I took the ORACLE 10g Admin and SQLPLUS course at UT Dallas Texas and took the examine 2007 right after the course was finished at UT dallas I dont have the ID or any information. BUT I NEED TO GET A COPY OF my OCA please advise I have ask ORACLE but they want the Course ID and I dont have it anymore. Please Help...

Posted by Deborah Medley on July 08, 2013 at 12:45 PM PDT #

@Arshiya, The test will not be available after July 31. If you plan on testing after that date, you should begin to prepare for a different SQL exam that will be available after that date - 047, 051 or 061.

@Marie, you will first need to decide if you'd like to pursue the 10g, 11g or 12c certification. Then you'd take the 2nd exam in the relevant OCA path (042, 052, or 062). The 007 exam results will remain valid after July 31. After becoming a DBA OCA, you will need to complete training and pass the OCP exam in the desired path - 043, 053 or 063 to become OCP.

@Deborah, First, I suggest that you contact Pearson VUE (www.pearsonvue.com/oracle/contact) to see if you can obtain your Testing ID and get their assistance to create your web account. 24 hours after you've created your Pearson VUE web account, using the existing Oracle Testing ID, you will need to login to CertView, using the exact data from the Pearson VUE web account. From here, you will be able to view your certification history and ensure that you have completed all the requirements and the OCA has been granted. After that, you will need to contact Oracle Certification Support http://bit.ly/KMsuH3 to request a copy of your certificate.

I'm giving my 1Z0-052(11g admin-1) exam this week and am planning to give the 1Z0-007(intro to sql 9i) on 29th of this month, but on the website it says 1Z0-007 is validated against 9i and 10g, does this mean that 1Z0-007 is non compliant with 1Z0-052???
then again on the page of 11g admin it says i can give 1Z0-051 or 1Z0-047 or 1Z0-007, please clarify this.

Thank you

Posted by guest on July 11, 2013 at 07:18 AM PDT #

The 007 exam is valid in this scenario. You can obtain the 11g DBA OCA certification by passing the 007 and 052 exams.

I just caution you that if you do not pass the 007 exam on the 29th, you will not have an opportunity to retake it, you would have to prepare for a different exam. Tho I'm sure you've considered that and feel confident that you will pass!

Hi Brandye,

I need your help. I want to complete the OCA exam. but i'm confused that which exam i have to go for either Iz0-047 or Iz0-51 as both contains diffrent syllabus.
Iz0-047 conatins architecture and thruough oracle where as IZ0-51 conatins only SQL.
Also advise me that with this exam which another exam I will need to pass and what shall be gap between 2 exams?

In future i also wnat to take OCP.

Regards,
Harish Shinde

Posted by guest on July 16, 2013 at 02:31 AM PDT #

Harish,
You can choose if you prefer to take the 051 or 047. The 051 exam covers SQL only and is probably a bit easier than the 047 exam. The 047 exam will result in an Expert certification, whereas the 051 exam will only fulfil the SQL exam requirement in the OCA path.

After passing a SQL exam, you can go on to pass the 052 exam to become an 11g DBA OCA. So, if you take the 051 exam, you will receive one certification. If you take the 047 exam, you will receive two certifications.

There has been much comment about this in our Certification Forums http://bit.ly/Lt5vhm, and one user has even written an article about it. I suggest that you do a little research there as well.

After a long gap, I want to continue my Oracle DBA study and attain the Oracle certification till the latest Oracle DBA certification introduced with 12c. Now I'm going to start studying for OCA 11g certification.
Do I need to take the exam 1Z0-051? Or the exam 1Z0-007 is still valid after retired date (July 31st, 2013)?

Thanks,
Camilla

Posted by Camilla on August 23, 2013 at 05:43 AM PDT #

@Deeksha, I don't have a date that the 147 exam will retire, but it is quite an old exam, so the retirement could be announced any time. Retirements are typically announced 3 months in advance, so keep you eye on this blog. This is where the retirement announcement will be made.

Hi Camilla, If you have passed the 007 exam, you will not need to pass the 051 exam. Your 007 exam results will be valid to fulfill the SQL exam requirement in the 11g DBA OCA path.

or
1Z0-144 Oracle Database 11g : Program with PL/SQL.

then only i will get the ORACLE CERTIFICATE. is my understanding correct? Kindly advice.

Posted by guest on September 10, 2013 at 05:57 AM PDT #

@Guest on Sept 4 - 051 is not a certification. If you passed the 051 exam, you can pass the 062 exam to obtain Oracle 12c DBA OCA. 1Z0-062 is currently in beta. You can find more info about beta exams here http://bit.ly/15ju8HA.

@Shivanshu - 1)Correct; 2)Correct, your 007 exam results will apply; 3)Yes.

@Guest on Sept 10 - I'm not sure what training the OA students have had, so I'm not sure which exam would be the right one for them to take. The options are 1Z0-047, 1Z0-051, or 1Z0-061. You should check with your OA contacts to find out which exam best fits the training provided by OA.

But I have not completed 1z0-033.Without completing this exam i havent got MY 9i OCP and 10g OCE RAC Certification.

Posted by guest on October 04, 2013 at 08:20 PM PDT #

Amit,
Since you have passed 007, and the 10g RAC exam, and you want to pursue 11g OCM, I'd say that you should go ahead and do the path below:

- pass 052
(for 11g DBA OCA)
- pass 053
- submit an 11g training course
(for 11g DBA OCP)
- Once your 11g DBA OCP certification is granted, the 10g RAC certification should also be granted (http://bit.ly/1bcsPgS).

One word of caution - you must take all the exams under the same Oracle Testing ID. If you have not taken any of your exams at Pearson VUE, be sure to enter your Prometric Testing ID when you create your Pearson VUE web account. If, for any reason, Pearson issues you a new ID (starting with 'OC'), you should immediately contact them to have your IDs merged - pearsonvue.com/oracle/idmerge.

@Guest on Nov 6 - You will need to pass a SQL exam (051, 061 or 047) as well as exam 052 in order to obtain the 11g DBA OCA.

@Guest on Nov 10 - You can go to certview.oracle.com and select 'See My New Exam Results Now.'

@OCP 9i - You can select either package that you mention. Normally, you would want to select LVC, Instructor-led, or TOD training format in order for the training to count toward certification. They SSCD format will not fulfill the training requirement. However, the PL/SQL Associate certification does not require training, so you can select LVC or SSCD. I believe that SSCD is a less expensive option, so if you can complete the training and study effectively on your own, that may be the better option for you.

Thank you!

Hi John,
The course you mention will count toward the 11g DBA OCP certification. You can find a list of courses that will fulfill the training requirement for this certification on our website http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=244#4. Regarding your 2nd question, the 007 exam results are still valid. You can go on to take the 052 exam.

Oracle Developer,
You do not need to pass all 3 exams again if your original OCA certification was the PL/SQL OCA.

I was engaged in the Oracle10g Database Administrator Certified Associate path. I passed exam 1Z0-007 early before July 31, 2013. After that i had many constraints and i could'nt pass the Oracle Database 10g administration 1 exam. Now i want to conclude with it. Please i want to know if i can continue and pass only the second exam ( Oracle Database 10g administration 1 )? Thanks

Yes. Your 007 exam results are still valid and will count toward your certification.

Hi,

I have taken and passed (1z0-007,1z0-031,1z0-032). Since I got to know 1z0-033 has expired. Please confirm below exam is the alternate (new version) of 1Z0-033 in order to complete 9i OCP DBA Cetification.

1z0-043 or 1z0-053 or 1z0-063. I got this information from one of oracle customer care executive on Oct 2013.

Thanks & Regards

Amit,
If you earned the 9i DBA OCA certification, you may be eligible for a special upgrade path. We have not yet announced the release of the path, but we are planning to release a path for 9i DBA OCAs to upgrage to 12c DBA OCP. You may wish to wait for this announcement to be made. We expect to announce in the next few months if you can wait.

Otherwise, you can pursue 10g, 11g, or 12c certification by passing 043, 053 or 063 and completing one of the approved courses to fulfill the training requirement.

Hi Brendye,

I have done Oracle 10gC OCP and Oracle 11g OCP.

Also I have completed below two advanced courses :
1. Oracle Database 10g: OCM Exam Preparation Workshop
2. Oracle Database 10g: RAC for Administrators Release 2

My query is whether I am eligible to take Oracle 11g OCM ? Does the above courses meet the Oracle11g OCM requirement of 2 advanced hands-on courses ?

Regards
Deepak

Hi Deepak,
Unfortunately, those 10g courses do not fulfill the training requirement for 11g OCM. You will need to complete two of the advanced courses listed here: http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=244#5.

Hello, i passed the 1Z0-031 years ago, i never tried the 007 to get the full OCA. Is there any way to complete my path for OCA? Or what can be a valid alternative?
Thanks in advance for the answer!

At this time, if you want to go for a Database Administrator OCA certification, you will need to start an 11g or 12c path from the beginning. You can find the full paths on our website at certification.oracle.com.

Hi,
I was planning to take up the Oracle 11g DBA exams to get the OCA and OCP certifications.
SO I believe I need to take the 1z0-052 and 1z0-053 exams. Is it mandatory to take up the training for both these exams too?

In addition to the 052 and 053 exams, you'll need to also pass a SQL exam (051, 047 or 061). You will not need to complete training to take the exams, but you will need to complete training before the OCP certification is granted. You can find the certification path/requirements on our website https://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=653&get_params=p_id:51#tabs-2.

hi
I have successfully completed the OCP 9i in developer track, a few years back.
Now I want to become OCP11g DBA.
Can you please let me know if the first exam-i.e the SQL exam I took for 9i(IZO-007)is sufficient as the first exam or should I have to take the IZO-051 (11g oracle sql) again?
Only confused about this and I know that there are 2 more exams to be taken(IZO-052 and IZO-053)
Thanks a lot

You do not need to take an additional SQL exam, your 007 exam results remain valid. You may go ahead and move to the 052 exam.

Good luck!

Sir I have completed my OCA 11G dba certificate and now looking for OCP 11G...I hv done course in 10g . With this course can I go for OCP 11g or I have to again do course in 11g

The 10g course will not fulfill the training requirement for the 11g OCP certification. You will need to complete an 11g or 12c course.
