FAQ: Why Can't I Authenticate My CertView Account?

We sometimes receive questions from some of you who have trouble authenticating your CertView accounts. You have entered what you believe to be the correct information and after 3 failed attempts, you are "locked out" of your account. Are you sure you are entering the correct information?

Some of the most common reasons we see for failed authentication are:
  • You entered the exam number instead of your personal Oracle Testing ID (this is the most common reason for authentication failure). Exam number = 1Z0-###; Oracle Testing ID is similar to OC#######. The Oracle Testing ID is the number that you need to enter.
  • You entered the Oracle Testing ID with spaces (this is another common reason for authentication failure). There are no spaces in the Oracle Testing ID - OC#######.
  • You entered an email address or name that is different from the name and email address in your Pearson VUE profile. Sign in to your Pearson VUE web account to obtain the correct information.
  • You have not yet created a Pearson VUE web account. Go to the Pearson VUE website to create your web account.
  • You created or updated your Pearson VUE web account fewer than 60 minutes ago. Allow one hour after you create or update your Pearson VUE web account to authenticate your CertView account.
If you have not yet authenticated your CertView account, watch this video to ensure you avoid the common mistakes.

Comments:

Hello,
how can we get out of such a situation?
I have 3 failed attempts, and I can't see any of the reasons you mentioned to be the reason for authentication failure.

Can I somehow unlock my account?

Posted by guest on January 24, 2014 at 04:36 AM PST #

Once you you had 3 failed authentication attempts, the Oracle Certification Support team will manually authenticate your account and contact you to confirm when authentication is complete.

I have a test appointment tomorrow, just found that I can't authenticate against certview and locked out, but it says it may take around 5 days for oracle to verify, does this going to avoid me from taking test tomorrow or only it delays my result.

Hi,

I took 3 certification exams, all of 9i certification path. 1Z0-007, 1Z0-031, 1Z0-032. By the time I wanted to take the last 1Z0-033 (performance) it was expired. So I just took now the 11G 1Z0-053 which I read should replace the one expired.
The point is, I'm still see my certification as OCA only, not OCP.
What should I do next?

Posted by Marlon Silva on July 24, 2014 at 11:08 AM PDT #

Marlon,
Unfortunately, the 053 exam that you took does not help your situation. I believe you have the 9i DBA OCA certification? The 053 exam is hte 11g DBA OCP exam, so it won't grant 9i DBA OCP. And in order to obtain the 11g DBA OCP by passing exam 053, your OCA certification would have had to be 11g DBA OCA.

There is a path that you can follow. See this blog post http://bit.ly/1rjfmvs for the path that you can follow.

I'm not sure what you mean that you took SQL OCP. Did you take exam 043 before you took 042? Unfortunately, if that is the case, your only option would be to start your certification path over with 11g or 12c.

I posted something earlier but it is not showing up. I changed my email Id at oracle before the exam on 3/14. I tried to login at certview with my new email but got locked out. Before the 3rd attempt I changed my email at pearson vue to the new email and tried again but still failed. I got email from oracle saying I should be able to login using my old email but that failed and tried with my new email id but got locked out again. I want to check my score but I am unable to. Please help!

Posted by guest on March 16, 2015 at 08:03 AM PDT #

When changing email addresses, there is some lag time between the information being saved on the Pearson VUE site and being uploaded to the CertView site. It is likely that the issue was caused by the email address changes not getting picked up in real time by CertView.

However, the support team typically fixes these issues and takes care of manual authentication within 24 hours on business days. I believe that you have probably already heard back from them and this issue is sorted out.

If not, let me know and I can follow up with the team, but I will need your name as it is provided in your Pearson VUE profile (Please do not provide any other personal info like Oracle Testing ID).

All blog comments must be moderated before being approved to be posted. We do this to avoid a lot of spam on this blog. Unfortunately, moderation is not immediate. For this reason, we urge candidates to work with the Oracle Certification Support team for specific issues that require a faster response or that require specific account help.

It looks like your issue is resolved now.

If you wish to change your email address, you will need to change it at Pearson VUE and change it in your Oracle.com account. Then you'll need to contact Oracle Certification Support and let them know you've changed your email address. There is a step that they will need to take to get the updates made in CertView. You will need to reauthenticate your CertView account after that.

Hi,

I've taken the OCJP certification exam today. I've got an email about 3 hour after the exam and I couldn't log in to the CertView for authentication. I've put my login information correctly I'm sure of it. And I still can't log in. It's just say "incorrect login information".
Now when I log into Pearson Vue account and go to Exam History, I have "Status: delivery failed" next to my exam information.

I was copy pasting the Oracle Testing Id and my authentication failed twice. I manually entered the testing id and mail id the third time and it worked. I am not sure if there was some space or additional characters being appended while pasting which resulted in failure. But this might be the reason some people have faced the issue despite putting in the correct details.

How can this issue be resolved?

Hi Brandye,
Today, I appeared for 1Z0-060 Oracle 12c upgrade exam. I received an email saying that my exam results are now available for review. However, when I login to certview, I don't see any record of recent exam; instead I get a prompt saying that I can see my exam result if it was taken after Nov 16, 2012.
I found that the Oracle Testing ID (OC0870242) for my Oracle 9i exams (taken in 2003) is different than my recent Oracle Testing ID (OC1303483) for Oracle 12c upgrade. The only common thing is my email id and of course my profile. Shouldn't all my certifications show under one Oracle Testing ID?
Please help.

Dear Candidate

We are unable to Authenticate your CertView account as a First Time User. Our system shows that you have already authenticated your CertView account with the following
Oracle Web Account Username: sxxxxxxxxxy@rxxxxxxxxx.com (this user name has been abbreviated for security purposes).
You are now attempting to authenticate your CertView account with a different Oracle Web Account username/password. CertView can only be linked to one Oracle Web Account username/password..

If you remember the Oracle Web Account that you originally authenticated your CertView account with, log in as a Returning User. If you do not remember your Oracle Web Account username, you can retrieve this information from the Oracle Account Log-in page to retrieve your Lost Username. In addition, you may retrieve your Password if you do not recall this information.

Greetings,

I took my first oracle certificate exam (1Z0-051) last year with success and obtained my exam result online from certview without problem.

I changed my pearson vue email account and scheduled for my second cert exam (1Z0-450) a week ago, and the exam date will be the day after tomorrow. Then I tried to access certview and got a 3-attempt failure message and got my account blocked.

I remember I used my new email a/c first and then my old email a/c but both didn't work.

I've waited for 2 days now but it seems nothing has improved yet.

- should I postpone my new exam date and wait for my cert account get authenticated first?

- what would the manual authentication be? would somebody email or call directly?

currently I'm out of the country but I do have a valid mobile phone# kept in my Pearson Vue profile. but I'm worrying if they would check my pearson vue record, obtain my mobile phone number, and make international call to me? or if there is some phone/email that I can contact to initially to improve my helpless waiting time?

your prompt reply will be highly appreciated as my exam date is approaching so closely and I'm afraid I may not have enough time to postpone it.

thanks!

You need to contact Oracle Certification Support http://education.oracle.com/pls/eval-eddap-dcd/OU_SUPPORT_OCP.home?p_source=OCP and ask them to make the updates in CertView. Once they do that, you'll need to reauthenticate your CertView account with your new information.

I know this is a bit of a confusing process. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Brandye Barrington

Hi, is the pro-metric testing ID same as Oracle Testing ID ?

I have 2 failed attempts already and used my prometric id, if they are different, how can I retrieve my Oracle Testing ID ?

Posted by guest on November 18, 2015 at 10:04 PM PST #

Ashutosh, I think you need to contact Oracle Certification Support http://education.oracle.com/pls/eval-eddap-dcd/OU_SUPPORT_OCP.home?p_source=OCP for assistance with this issue.

Regarding the question about IDs: Prometric ID and Oracle Testing ID are the same.

I appeared for 1Z0-897 as on 27-JAN-16. It is been two days but still I can't log in certview.oracle.com to see my result. It is showing below error-

Third invalid attempt

We are sorry, but we are still unable to verify your information. Your account has been referred to Oracle Certification Support for manual processing. You should expect to be contacted within three (3) business days.

Thank you for participating in the Oracle Certification Program. Please access our Help Center for additional information and assistance.

I guess it happened because when I took 1Z0-851 I gave email id xxxxxxxx@oracle.com. When I took 1Z0-897 I gave email Id xxxxxxx@gmail.com.

Can you please suggest how can I log in certview.oracle.com to see my certification results. I already opened SR for OCP team.

The Certification Support team will have to take care of this. I hope that they have already sorted this out for you.

Hi,

I had taken up and cleared a certification while working with my previous organization. But, now i have joined another company and am aware of the Oracle Testing ID, but didn't give my old linked E-Mail ID which no longer exists in certview login page, thus failed the 3 attempts. Could you please let me know if i would be contacted on my new email id.

Thanks,
Praveen

Praveen,
If you have failed authentication three times, your account has been referred for manual authentication. The customer support team has probably already contacted you with the authentication information. If not, please contact Oracle Certification Support http://education.oracle.com/pls/eval-eddap-dcd/OU_SUPPORT_OCP.home?p_source=OCP for assistance.

Posted by Muhammad Aamir on February 21, 2016 at 02:12 PM PST #

Muhammad,
If you've had three failed attempts to authenticate, your account has been submitted to the Oracle Certification Support team for manual authentication. They have likely addressed this issue today. If not, they will likely take care of it early on Tuesday.

Hi,
I have to give my certification IZ0-418 today i.e. 02/23/2016, however, whenever I'm trying to authenticate my certview account, it is pointing to my old email from one my previous employers to which I have no access. I raised the following service request on the same
Service Request Number: 160222-002294
Can you please help?
It would be frustrating not to get the result after the exam, knowing that it is available.

Hi Brandye,

I tried logging in three times to my CertView account with a new email address and now I am locked out. I have been reading the above comments. This seems like a terrible system.

How do I unlock my account? I am afraid that the support team will be trying to contact me using my old CertView email address of doug.enders@zanett.com.

I took a certification test this morning and would like to know if I passed or not (1Z0-498)
Thanks,
Doug

The Oracle Certification Support team handles these manual authentication issues. They typically have a turn around time of 24 hours or less.

If you are concerned about them contacting you at the correct email address, please submit an SR http://education.oracle.com/pls/eval-eddap-dcd/OU_SUPPORT_OCP.home?p_source=OCP, and let them know the correct email address. You should also update your email address in your Pearson VUE profile so that it will upload to CertView.

Dear Brandye,

I already changed my email address in Pearson VUE and in the Certview. Then I tried to access again my Certview account and is asking again for my Oracle Testing ID and email address. I provided the updated email address and I got 3 failed attempts.

Within 24 hours Oracle never send any information about authentication failed but I can refilled Oracle Testing ID and mail address again for authentication. So I just set again correct information but failed and repeat it. After 3 days repeating that I am really no longer mind and can't wait to see my marks for 1Z0-804 exam. And also I urgently need e-certificate in filling CV for my new job. Your help would be really appreciated.

Thank You.
Regards,
Ye Win.
