New On The Oracle Certification Website

Several recent improvements have been made to the Oracle Certification website to help make things easier for you to quickly find the information you need.

NEW TRACK PAGES

Track pages are the pages that describe the requirements to earn each Oracle certification. There is a track page for each certification path that shows you how to achieve your certification - step-by-step. Here you also find links to the courses that fulfill the training requirement (for those certification paths that require training) as well as a link to each exam required in your path, showing helpful exam information such as exam topics, cost in local currency, etc.

We have recently redesigned our track pages based on feedback from our customers to make them easier to follow and more comprehensive. At the top of each track page is a section that gives you an idea of what can be expected of a person who holds this certification, a broad idea of what is covered in the exam, and what types of skills will be covered in your exam preparation.

For certifications that have logical next steps (such as OCA to OCP, or add-on OCE certifications), our track pages now suggest which credentials would likely be most helpful to you in your technical field.

Our track pages now include any applicable upgrade paths directly within the track pages itself (i.e. no more hunting through the website for upgrade paths and exams). To upgrade from an earlier version of a certification to the current one, look for the path on the track page under the 'Upgrade An Existing Certification' tab.

NEW CERTIFICATION FINDER

Have you ever had difficulty knowing exactly where to look on the Oracle Certification web pages to find the certification you are looking for, or to see what certifications are available in a certain area?

With the Oracle Certification Program's significant growth over the past few years, the number of certifications has expanded exponentially - sometimes making it challenging to find the certifications you are looking for. With this in mind, we're pleased to have released our new Certification Finder.

This powerful new tool will allow you to search for certifications either by Product Area (as was available in the past), or by Job Role (new). Users can then drill down further, narrowing their search by product group and by product. Users can also start with the product area or pillar rather than job role and drill down in the same fashion - narrowing their results to only those certifications in which they are interested.

Seems, that it's impossible to view the flat list of all certifications any more. Bring it back, please. It was so useful.

Good comment. We are actually working on bringing this page back. Thanks for the feedback!

Prashant,
There are not any certifications in the areas you mention. You can find available certifications on our website at certification.oracle.com. Select 'Applications' in the 2nd field and have a look at the list. There are R12 Financials certifications, as well as Hyperion, PeopleSoft and JDE.

hi brandye,

this question maybe out of the way for this post. but i am not sure how to go about this. i am a scjp 1.4, scjp 5.0, scbcd 1.3 and scbcd 5.0 and my certifications are visible under the oracle certview tool. i had done this while it was sun microsystems and used who2contact@sun.com for any certification, record or delivery issues (earlier).

i have lost the physical copies of my certificates - and they are requi-red by my employer for their record. can a duplicate certification kit be sent to me and whom should i contact this. i am from bangalore, india.

i need all the four certificate copies - kindly help me out with the email id or a contact number for india. thanks a lot.

Hi Sumith,
Please contact Oracle Certification Support http://bit.ly/LgbRCa. They will be able to assist. Any certificates that were granted by Sun Microsystems will be provided in soft copy. You can also provide verification of these certifications through CertView on the 'Publish Certification to a 3rd Party' tab.

Now looking at the exam topics "http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=41&p_exam_id=1Z0_058" guess i need more preparation to take the exam. Guide me how to prepare and take the exam. I have around 6 years of experience in working as RAC dba.

Thank You,

Hi Baskar,
I suggest that you review the exam topics and see where the gaps in your knowledge are. Then review your training, review tech docs and practice with the tool.

Good luck on your exam.

Hi Brandye ,
im very upset with Oracle regarding handling success kit shipment tracking.

I'm not getting it logically, as I had earlier received communication from oracle on same address within 1 week,
even though address is same, person is same, mobile number is same, how your courier not able to deliver it.!!!!

Its been more than 3 and half months ,i hvnt received my hard-copy of success kit. even raised many times SR(s).

Why don't oracle hired different shipment courier company ,

Please have some other courier service which can give you and recipient clear status of sent courier transportation.

TS,
I understand your frustration. We share the frustration. However, the courier from Oracle's side has not changed either. The only changes we've made from our side are to send certificates more frequently. I apologize that you have not yet received your certificate. I am not sure what the issue is with your certificate. Have you received the soft copy of your certificate?

Hi,
the changed certification page is a horror. I can't find anything any more. There used to be a graphical overview of the certifaction programms, I can't find it. Besides the site switches back from the regional country to US all the time and the CSS is not loaded at all in Google Chrome. The old site was working well, here I am completely lost.

@DF, Unfortunately, in addition to the significant change in the site, and the technical issues that seem to be appearing, OU recently made some changes on the back end that affected our Certification Finder tool and it's turned into a Certification Loser! We are working diligently to get it fixed. I will bring up the technical issues with the web team to have them look into it. In the mean time, tell me what you're looking for and I'll try to help.

Vidhya, You should contact OU http://bit.ly/KnNNke. They will be able to guide you in the right direction.

@DF,
Here is the response I received back from the web team. They were not able to replicate the technical issues that you were having.

"This issue is something to do with the browser issues on the customer's computer. If this does not work for him/her in one browser, we would recommend he/she use another browser, but otherwise we cannot be of much help in this case.

Another thing we can recommend is to reset google chrome browser settings to default or reinstall your browser again. But its always helpful to look at the page in alternate browser because the page is not having fault, its the browser and different add-ons that might cause the problem. "
