These two exams will lead to an OCA certification. You should check your CertView account at to ensure that your certification has been granted. If so, you should receive the certificate in the mail in 6-8 weeks unless you are in India, China, Mexico or Bangladesh. In those countries, we send certificates via email and candidates must request a hard copy of the certificate.

If the certification has not yet been granted, you can see further instructions within CertView.

Hi every one !

Iam planning to attempt a certification exam to become OCA (1Z0-051) !

Can any one please help me how to proceed , to get cleared in this exam ?

If any one has cleared please can you give me some guidance how to proceed my preparation ?

Thanks in advance,
< Naveen >

Hi Naveen,
One thing I should mention is that the 051 exam will not result in certification on its own. You will also need to pass the 052 exam in order to obtain the OCA certification. 051 is the first step in the path. I just wanted to be sure that you have the correct expectations.

You can visit our Certification Forum for more information on suggested books to prepare. Search the comments - much has been posted on this.

I'm planning to take "1Z0-803".

Upon completion of the exam successfully, will I be an Oracle Certified Associate?

Hi Gokul,
Yes, if you pass the 803 exam, you will receive the Java SE 7 OCA certificate.

I am studying Oracle Solaris System Administration in Toronto. I would also like to take the OCA Certification too. Whether I should take 11 or 10?

We recommend that you go for the latest version of certification, which would be 11. The Solaris 10 technology and certification are quite old.

Good luck!

Have you completed the required training and submitted the course form? A training course is required to earn this certification. You can view the courses that will fulfill the training requirement on the track page:

Take a look at the course lists under Steps 1 and 2. Then you'll need to submit your course details through the Course Submission Form
